Perhaps they needed a certain number of bodies to move their gun control agenda forward ... "Stand down until the shooter runs out and then take him out... Didn't go exactly as planned .
Armed deputy was present @ Lakeland

In the article it says a senior witnessed the deputy standing outside talking on his radio. I would guess if the student didn't say anything we'd not hear this. Maybe he spoke out to the right people.

So would this be the same sheriffs dept that received all the complaints and warnings about Cruz and did nothing?

That is entirely possible. But I offer an alternative: once the smoke cleared, the dept started sorting details and realized they had gotten all kinds of warnings about the shooter and had ignored them and on top of that one of their deputies hid outside the school instead of doing his job during the shooting. So the brass at the sheriffs dept is realizing how bad they fucked up and either want to see what they can sweep under the rug or see how long they can keep this info from getting out because they know there will be huge backlash.

23 incident reports on the killer.... are you fucking kidding me, 23?? AND the tip to the FBI about his post online about wanting "to be a professional school shooter"!!
How much more of : "if you see something, say something" did they need for fuck's sake??
YEA.... AND IT'S THE GUN'S FAULT!! They can just fuck-off! They blew it on so many levels and so many departments, and they want to blame the gun!! This killer wasn't allowed to carry a backpack in to the school building when he was a student because they knew he was bad-shit, AND it's the gun's fault!!
These socialist pricks are allowing these kids to be massacred to push an agenda.... and the grieving Families, and affected kids are unsuspectingly playing right into their hands!
They are pushing the fact that it was an AR just to keep the focus on that, instead of how badly they screwed this up. The sheriff' department, and the fbi have ALL of this blood squarely on their hands!!
AND here's another report that they knew this guy was a SERIOUS threat: https://www.naplesnews.com/story/ne...etails-his-homicidal-intentions-mo/365975002/
YEA, and it's the gun's fault!! Nice try!!

The left will try and spin this that a good guy with a gun did not stop anything and that guns are not the answer.
The clear and obvious response to that is that we cannot rely on anyone but ourselves and it is all the more reason why teachers should be armed

What is there to say. There was a failure at every level and every turn to this story.
Sad.
Sad.

What was his training? What was department policy? Maybe he did exactly what training and policy dictated. That sleazy sheriff is quick to debase anyone that even hints at making him look bad.
That was a combat situation, how many cops are trained for combat. Unless they got it in the Army or Marines, they aren't. Hell, I got way more training and experience in weaponry and tactics for that scenario, but, not being a super citizen am not allowed to Arm myself to the degree that the Fife's are.

As many have pointed out in here before, his primary goal was going home to his family that night. If some innocent lives needed to end to facilitate that, he was willing to sacrifice them.

Well, we don't know that spat. I'm willing to give him a benefit of doubt. Maybe with his training he thought he was doing the right thing. Until We know what the truth is I'll stand down. I don't like lynch mobs.

His boss (the sheriff) has already said he should have gone in. I'm not the one starting a lynch mob.
Also, if a bunch of kids are being murdered, with all due respect, fuck any procedures that say to wait.

A bit off topic but did anyone see this flaming bag of shit in the article?
"U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida said a visit to Stoneman Douglas prompted him to change his stance on large capacity magazines.
The Republican insisted he is willing to rethink his past opposition on gun proposals if there is information the policies would prevent mass shootings.
"If we are going to infringe on the Second Amendment, it has to be a policy that will work," Rubio said in an interview Thursday with The Associated Press."
IF we are going to infringe?!?!? IF?
Rubio's true colors shining through. Kodak moment right there folks.

I don't like freeloading bureaucrat pussies posing as sheepdogs.
Too bad this loser lacks the decency to suck on tailpipe for what his inaction brought.

The more we know about this, the more disgusting it gets.
So, he was "present", and on duty. Kind of reminds me of when kids get participation trophies. You know, - for being there...

Even his union president, who is also a deputy said he should have gone in.
"But Bell — while not condemning the deputy — proposed that it was an error not to engage the suspect, whom authorities identified as Nikolas Cruz, a 19-year-old former student of the school."
Here's the article - the headline is a bit misleading though.
Florida deputy who stayed outside school during massacre believes he 'did a good job,' union official says

I wonder if we will hear about this former deputy killing himself in the near future.

The sheriff is taking credit for "going in". The Resource officer stayed outside, other sheriffs showed up and they REMAINED OUTSIDE, Coral Springs officers showed up and immediately assaulted the building, they were "shocked" to see the sheriff's outside, ARMED WHILE BEHIND THE CARS doing nothing
Sheriff Israel is claiming it was his team that entered first, CSPD is pissed he is taking credit for the capture of the shooter ( I refuse to write that shitheads name)
I suspect Sheriff Isreal will announce his retirement by the end of next week, as he is on the hot seat for DOING NOTHING when he is the one guy that could have prevented this entire tragedy

Even if he doesn't retire, he'll never be re-elected with this hanging over his head.

A good guy with a gun, failed to stop a bad guy with a gun . That's the message. We are wrong ,that's the message.
Forgive me for saying this , but Im skeptical of the story . The man just vanishes into retirement never to be seen again.
Of course ,We all know for a fact he was Armed right? Because we were told he was armed.
If he was in uniform and armed I will assume he called the shooting in immediately, How do you know he wasn't told to standby for back up?
Id like to hear this guys version of the story .Id like to see this video tape .
