What is a good fixed blade knife for under $100?

[Target]

I have a $25 coupon from Ebay and figure that I need a fixed blade knife to add to a battle belt or BOB.

I'm looking at a Cold Steel SRK . Others that are on my list are the Glock knife ( i'd prefer the non saw back version), Gerber StrongArm and the SOG SEAL Pup.
Don't really want a KaBar.

What else is in the same category and below $100 total.?

I have both an SRK and a SEAL Pup. I greatly prefer the SRK.

The Cold Steel SRK for the second on that price range. I assume the Amazon offer is still with the kydex sheath. It's a camp knife, utility knife, foraging knife. Plenty good for preparing campfire wood. Beefy is the word.

For a tight budget and ultralight utility look at the Mora knives. Good skinner and okay lighter gage fire prep knife. Read the reviews and watch the videos. Not pry bars but I'd not turn my nose up at one.

Cold Steel. German D2 blade, full tang through a krayton material grip. The tang is actually thicker and wider than a KA-Bar. Blade is the same length as a KA-Bar and a little thicker. Machined pommel. Kydex sheath. MidwayUSA had them for about 50-60 dollars.
I’m liking it so far.

What exactly do you want it for?

I have $90 mora Garberg with a 4" blade. Great general use knife. So is a bench made pukko. A mora Kansbol is $30, super sharp, and very tough.

I have a Finnish made seaxe that I'd carry in liue of a hatchet or in big bad animal country. It's about a 10" blade

A buck general is a sharp, wicked combat style knife that's much much sharper than a ka bar. It's about a 7.5" blade.

I don't much care for the current fad of coated blade knives. I don't want that coating on my sharpening equipment or in my food. It always comes off and looks awful. You should oil it with mineral oil anyway, so why not have uncoated carbon, or if wetness is a consideration, go with stainless.

If you don't have one, get yourself a quality forest axe with a 26" handle.

Is what you describe as a Finnish Seasxe the Skrama? How about a Pic of that knife.
Thanks.

It is the Skrama, yes. Here is that and some others I enjoy in that price range.

I have both an SRK and a SEAL Pup. I greatly prefer the SRK.

A variant on the SRK is the Recon Tanto.

Amazon.com : Cold Steel Recon Tanto Fixed Blade Knife with Sheath, SK-5 Steel, 7.0" (49LRT) : Sports & Outdoors

Keep in mind the objective of this thread is "economy" knife. I have not broken my SRK or Recon Tanto. Both sharpen easy enough with a general purpose stone. The Tanto edition just looks meaner.

If I had the money, I'd get one of these from knifemakers on Bladeforums. The first was $350ish, the 2nd & 3rd are $200ish .
The 4th one is not very practical other than being a stabby stick but I can appreciate the craftsmanship. $300ish

I always wanted to buy one from these guys.

Thank you all for the input.

Nice. And I just saw there's a 5" version now, I may have to pick one up.

[Target]

I thought the 5" was the norm and the compact (4") was the newer one SRKc.
I got the 5"

You are correct. 6" & 5".

And soon to be a 5" as well if I can sneak it past the wife in the amazon cart.
