Holy s*balls that's expensive.

But the good news is that at that price it will be available if you need it.

I'd rather have the option of paying $600/case if I need it that bad than an empty shelf because it all sold out in 5 mins at $200.

[Pale Rider]

I bought a case of 500, for $299.00. That will hold me until the price comes back down. At least shipping was free.

[Blimey]

$.60/round wtf

Dang. I went through at least 300 rounds at a course last weekend. At that price, courses would become really expensive. I'd hate to have to spend over $200 on ammo at each course (since some have a higher round count). 1911 course is coming up in a few weeks. I'm glad that I've got pre-craziness stock to use.

We skipped a class in August we were thinking of taking because of the ammo use.

We had enough for the class, but it would have cut our stock down lower than I am comfortable with when there is no sign of a way to replenish it anytime soon.

Better to spend a couple hundred rounds a month to maintain proficiency on our own than drop a whole case in one day between the 2 of us and end up short before the supplies return.

But you will have to pay craziness prices to replenish if you do.

Nope.

Just like equity investments, my supplies have been acquired over a long period of time. I've averaged down.

If you're stocked deep enough you can wait until the insanity is over.

I don't think we'll see $200/case 9mm any time soon, but we'll probably see $300/case sometime next year.

Still less than Biden - Kamala prices

[Criticalt]

Im glad ive been hoarding for 30 years.

[togmaster]

Still cheaper than putting fuel in the boat.

Only now that China ran up the price.

You used to be able to buy either of them cheap.

In 1998 I met my Y2K prepper mentor. People learned nothing from that potential situation.

Clearly Target is GOUGING. F them.
this is from just now and it looks like it’s in stock. Not great but.. geez, at least you don’t walk away split in half.

[PutnamCharlie]

Just got my order from them ( thanks for the heads up). They will ship to upper ny.

[MikeyCNY]

I noticed that earlier, I check TS-USA every other day since they USED to have good prices, and with Prime I get free shipping. I refuse to buy at those prices, I have "enough" for now..

I still have backorders open through SWFA from June - I won't e-mail them again until next month as they keep saying "no ETA".

Federal and other ammo companies are working max shifts so I think eventually (read: next year) things will return to normal. It's just harder for us here in NY because most places won't ship to us..

If that's what they need to charge so it isn’t all sold out before the next shipment arrives, it's not gouging. It's charging what the market will bear.

Simple economics.

I just ordered some of that stuff for a friend. I'm set for 9mm for now, but not set enough to waste all that much.

[JackNeat]

Yeah.. charge what the market will accept.. that’s fair and I guess it’s not gouging.. A company the size of Target though could have been lower and closer to Rogers. My point of posting that is.. shop around.

I got cci brass for $0.32 a round at a big box store yesterday.

They had some "decently" priced HST earlier, about the only 9mm they're consistently getting in.. I'm actually decently stocked on HP rounds though..
