I notice that rarely anyone on this forum discusses NY SAFE act. Have you all given up? Is it a lost cause?
IMO- The NY gun law is arbitrary and unconstitutional. With its ban on semi-auto, mag fed rifles that have certain ergonomic, utility and cosmetic features.
Also the law's limit of 10 rounds mags for civilians gun owner is totally arbitrary.

Our governor has taken it upon himself, with no legislative input, to restrict people to 10 guests in their own home at Thanksgiving.

Nobody appears to even be challenging this.

The SAFE act violations seem minor in comparison.

And they must enter single file open and closing the door per each. If you would like a military grade door you need to file an application and have it shipped to a state approved door vendor, also mugshots, finger prints, back ground check, 4 people must fill out a form stating what a great person you are, then a hypocrite will decide if you are worthy of possession of said door, at that point you will be issued a license to buy a door (it is revokable at a whim) this is all after you pass a course on door usage and pay a fee, should take about 3-6 months, but there is a hinge shortage right now so...

Everyone has a different threshold or rationale for their decisions on what they feel is moral and just.

No. There are lots of things that can be done to improve our standing. The problem is our ostensibly pro-gun organizations are badly run and mismanaged so nobody in Albany takes them, and by extension 2A, seriously.

For example, was there any effort during the past legislative session to notify 2A activists of pending action in Albany? No Is anyone trying to counter the gun control narrative in the local media? No. Was there any solid effort to knock out even one incumbent who screwed us over this past election cycle? No. So why would the Governor and legislature care what we think about anything?

Our state government is a national embarrassment and I could spend a lot of time detailing our elected official's character defects. Ignorance is not one of them. They might not know much about guns but the electeds know who demands respect, who is going to back up their position and who isn't. They then act accordingly. This is not difficult to understand.

If others want to fight this, by all means, fight away. I think trying to get the SAFE Act undone in today's climate would be fruitless. Our Elected Elite have failed us and could not care any less about us than they do.

The Courts have left many citizens high and dry.

We have gun owners on this forum that support the agenda of the left. We have members here that have voted for Cumhole and Biden. We have gun owners that openly support Biden and his anti-Constitution ideas.

All we can fight for is a serious and Nationwide enema. Our Country needs a full reset. Getting rid of the SAFE Act, while a good thing is very small in comparison to what we are facing.

I believe the only way we get rid of unSAFE is to have it go Federal. Im seriously hoping that it happens. Until we bring the rest of free America into the fight, we've no chance of eliminating it as long as NYC is part of NY.

Earlier this month I made a forum post about my sister asking me for help about getting a firearm. I called around to some of the local gun shop in my area. There is a major back order for basic shotguns. And some ammo. When I took my sister to a couple of shops, there were lines out the doors. My sister and some in my family use to make fun of me about my interest is guns. And asked why I needed so much ammo.

Everything has been said. NY dems have a complete lock in Albany and there is zip anything can be done about it. Actions speak louder than words...and none of US ,or anyone else for that matter, have the ambition to take action. Sad but true.

Nonsense. There were ample opportunities this year to affect the outcomes of Dem races. One of the more glaring being the Westchester DA race. The choice was either the incumbent or upstart challenger who is an antigun ideologue. All gun groups had to do was tell their constituents to vote for the incumbent as the alternative is nuts. Same with a Senate race in Rockland, same with an Assembly race in Rochester, etc. As I said this is not hard. Make a decision.
