Hey, I knew a guy who was the president of the Iron Coffin motorcycle club in NW Pennsylvania. His name was Courtney. And he did NOT like being called Court!
He answered to his nickname Injin, but if you were a friend, Courtney was fine.
He was a very dangerous guy. A 5x felon who carried a 44...
Well, I got some new information today about my sister and her pistol permit.
Apparently shes the typical clueless moron in NYS. (She's really not, but this is funny)
Today we were talking about her permit. I asked if she has done a recertification yet. She says, "what's that?".....ugg.
I asked...
Last year my sister got her premises permit but had never fired a gun....ever....at 58 years old.
So she came out to my house to try a few guns. She was a beast, she fired everything from 22lr to 44 magnum.
While we were going up the caliber line, she fired a couple 9mm and liked the feel. Then...
I completely agree, that's why my $100 is pretty safe. :)
But, ive shot many animals with many rounds. Good 10mm rounds do a lot more damage than 9mm, not just a little, a LOT. Its just a bigger hole, goes deeper generally, and cares less about bone, muscle and tendons.
Where a 9mm may be...
There have been many videos which helped sway me toward 10mm over 9mm.
But the #1 video is an old one on ASP. A 65 year old guy gets shot FOURTEEN times by cops using 9mm.
It took 4 cops to get him in handcuffs. He died an hour later at the hospital.
Ill give anyone here $100 if they can find a...
I should add some context to this.
HE was in the police car, he was brought to us as a stray with a broken leg. That was 2015, his name is Zero. :)
Here he is today, 11 years later. Still looking dapper at 12ish years old.
At another local range/club, the one I may join, has a sign near the range that says, "You CAN wear tactical gear on the range, but SHOULD you?"
Its meant as a joke, but im sure some guys get butt hurt. :)
I honestly think hes just a local no nothing. Probably lived here in the boonies his whole life, and doesn't understand the real world.
What I wanted to tell him, but didn't want to waste the words, was that the odds of needing a handgun for self defense against a human are very low, but not...
This was the first time Ive been to a range in 5 years, and this guy was there.
There is a really nice local club I just might join. I would join just so I could meet some new shooters. For the last decade its the same 4 guys...and my sister...who come shoot at our house. I swear 3 of them just...
I found it odd at this particular range. Its the Falconer Rod and Gun in Falconer NY.
The members there are very self defense oriented, and they hold a lot of self defense classes there, and the NYS pistol permit classes.
Many of the members are younger.
I could see this at the Jamestown Rifle...
I have all the shooting area I need. From a 100 yard "pistol" range in the yard, to a 1000+ yard perfectly level unused corn field.
But I saw an old friend the other day, and agreed to go to a local range he belongs to, so we went yesterday.
While we were there I met a few shooters. There was...
Oh yeah, I forgot the point of my post. :)
I have a LOT of knives, I refuse to say how many......because I dont know. Somewhere over 100, but below 300. :(
The modern day "high value" Chinese and Taiwanese knives made today hit WAY above their price. If you're less concerned about steel, and...
Buck is another good one.
Their Chinese stuff is blah, but their USA stuff is pretty good, but WAY overpriced. They also have some quality control issues I hear they are working on.
They recently started using Magnacut in place of their 425m steel on some models. Even though Buck has the BOS...
