Ukrainian media report that explosions are currently being heard in Kiev, Kramatorsk, Odessa, Kharkov, Berdyansk, as well as in the vicinity of the Boryspil airport. Thousands of MLRS rockets are being fired onto Ukrainian Military Positions.

The White House is responding: "Russia alone is responsible for the death and destruction this attack will bring, and the United States and its Allies and partners will respond…The world will hold Russia accountable," Biden said in a late evening statement.

Biden will address the crisis, vowing "further consequences" tomorrow... The full statement:

also appears that the US government is transporting high level gov officials, military commanders and the 1st family to safetey/bunkers or is preparing to. Below live airforce 2 and high priority transport to and fro DC both of them. This started just b4 the news of attack..

Let me guess

Biden sleeping in the basement.

Kamala screaming racism because her bunker living quarters does not have a view and the carpet scratches her feet.

Pelosi ordered more cases of vodka, gin, and bourbon for her flight.

Lloyd Austin is on the phone with his Russian counterpart seeking assurances that Transgender military prisoners are not housed in wrong gender facilities

When you hear of members of Congress missing preplanned speaking engagements and/or them being relocated to ravenrock / mount weather that's when it might be time to consider going to a bug out location if you have one

Shit just got real.

Here's the million dollar question. Sleepy Joe has screwed us all.

Once he wakes up later today from his basement he's going to realize he's talked us back into a corner. He's already telegraphed our response to any further Russian invasion. Putin has already declared he will respond "in ways not seen before".

I seriously think our geriatric incompetent mentality inept president is getting terrible advice from war mongers who only care about poll numbers. Bidens numbers have sucked and he's being mocked by every left right and center. IMO his handlers all along thought Putin would take the Donbass and stop there. They took a calculated gamble to make Biden look like a strong leader standing up to Putin. They had Biden make all these threats and posturing in the hope that when Putin stopped in Donbass and didn't launch a full scale invasion they could spin it to be that Biden was the one who made him reconsider his plans.

Well.... That didn't work. We are led by morons. They aren't going to just let that go. They aren't going to let an already disliked feckless Biden be further humiliated. Oh no. They're going to double down. They're going to do something really stupid today to show bidens resolve. It's going to be bad for us. I would almost expect Russia to respond with some form of cyber attacks directly at the US. Or some similar level reprisals.

Top off your shit today if you can.

Uggggghhhhhh.

Now the same thing seen through history: people who do not want something to happen believe it won't. A lot of people in kiev, for various reasons, simply did not believe that what has happened would happen. In retrospect they will ask themselves why they witnessed 100k+ russian troops on their border, with russia having invaded already less than a decade ago, yet still believed that it would not do it again.

Normalcy bias.

The same reason normies look at those who want to be prepared as being from another planet.

U.S. foreign policy is based on deeply ingrained Russophobia. The phrase "to contain Russia" itself, speaks volumes. Russians are wild animals that need to be caged or they will do something really awful, like destroying ISIS or Nazi Germany.

The only acceptable Russian leader is someone who will assist in destroying his own country, but even then he is not praised, just tolerated.

There is nothing really in the U.S. to challenge Russophobic narratives and propaganda. There are no organizations to promote Russian culture and defend Russian history against hatemongering in politics and in the media. There is nothing like Knights of Columbus or similar Irish, German and Hispanic organizations. Russian-Americans who speak up for fair treatment of Russia or against distortion of its history and foreign policy are accused of being unpatriotic.

All this despite the fact that we were never in actual war with Russia, unlike half of European countries most Russophobs came from.

While this is a valid point you disregard the fact that the two nations have diametrically opposed ideological philosophies.
Communism and (What is supposed to be ) a representative republic are much the same as oil and water. Thus the ever present mistrust and friction between the governments.
