I get the clean drinking water as long as it’s reported fairly and accurately, but if the government has no obligation to provide us with accurate information then we need less of them than I thought.id also assume this would not remove all liability from their misinformation, but who knows.
Just curious if they don’t need to provide me with accurate information then why do I?

There's quite a bit the Federal, State, and Local Governments do that have no Constitutional basis or Right. demorats will tell you the "Right" to Healthcare, well there isn't an enumerated Federal Right, so it reverts to the individual States where you have the Right to seek Healthcare, but not to demand it from the State. You have the Right to Travel Freely, but not to operate a motor vehicle upon the Roadways without meeting requirements to do so, that's where the Sovereign Citizens get it wrong, and try as they might to twist the Laws, they either end up with a Ticket or handcuff with a citation issued upon release.
Government has gotten so big and gotten away with so many bastardizations, omissions, and outright disregard of the Bill of Rights and State Constitutions for so long, one has to wonder IF we really do have Rights from God or allowances from the government.

If the "right to healthcare" that isn't mentioned anywhere in the constitution means the taxpayers have to buy it for you, then i want my free guns and ammo because of the RKBA that is explicitly mentioned.

I'll take a MaDeuce and 5000rnds a month to practice with thanks.

Mrs. Spat would like an M134, but she'll need a bit more ammo than that.

Anything else and you're oppressing me and violating my rights.

My point is fine if they don’t have a responsibility to give us safe water it get it, you can get water many other ways. My issue is then they don’t have a responsibility to give us accurate information on this or other public health hazards? Then why do we have any of these idiots working and getting paid?
They put out water quality reports and apparently all of them can be lies and we don’t have safe water?

While there is no "Right" there is an obligation as a paid employee of the government to disclose accurate information as determined by the Legislature that authorized the formation of said entity. If your City has a bunch of lying fucktards, then they must be dismissed and those who hired or approved it are also subject to scrutiny...and if the Public does not challenge this then status quo will continue and abjectly worsen.

Maybe we should make a requirement for all official statements by a government official be deliverer under penalty of perjury.

We already have, but no one enforces legal action against another Great Big Club Member....even when they're passing unconstitutional laws, embezzling, or fucking kids in an Island.

I’d support this. I work for .gov and I have been asked to do things that don’t along with my legal authority. I asked how can we do this and watch people make things up. I say it’s not in black and white in the regulation I enforce so I’m not asking for that. Then I get told well they can offer it up as an alternative to that part of the regulation. I say I’m ok with that, but I’m not telling them it’s required or they are required to provide it to me because it’s not.

They like the work I do, but they don’t really like me. I don’t let them get away with BS and I challenge them.

It wasn't perjury and they got rid of that years ago for the feds.

But, you're right, they'll never prosecute it unless they're already out to get that guy.

But, if it's felony perjury to lie in your press conference, then all their immunity goes out the window and anyone who "relied on" that information to make a decision can sue that official personally for any damages.

*That* would give it teeth that doesn't require a member of "the club" to initiate the action.

I confuse the Oath of Office with the subject of being prosecuted under perjury Laws for giving false information to the Public.
The basis of Public Servants is honesty in the handling of our collective affairs, but they've gotten too big, nameless and faceless so accountability just isn't there...I agree we need strong Laws that will be observed covering not only perjury/lying, but also qualifying immunity, and higher up Term Limits.

If only I could speak of what I knew with anonymity. I’m sure I only know a very small surface scratch as well.
