Ruger to discontinue several major models.

I suspect with the move from NH to KY they're going to be hard pressed to turn out anything for a year or more (at least in terms of the Guns produced at that Facility...other Plants should continue as normal factoring in the easing of demand for ordinary guns. while the SBR/SBS/Suppressor markets will be on fire.
Some things are made simply because they can still manufacture and turn enough profit to justify making them; when the skilled labor gets scarce, the machinery gets tired, and there just isn't enough call/margin then it's time to let it go...Ruger M77's are fantastic Rifles, but I'll contend the American's sell at three to one or better....Ruger Red Label doesn't sell anywhere near as well as any of the Browning Over/Unders....Revolvers are labor intensive and most want cheap polymer pistols sans the guy wanting something massive like a .454, .480, .44 etc.

It’s hard for a consumer to buy products when it’s extremely hard to find. Took me a year of searching to find my Wiley Clapp GP100 and I had to go used after 6 months of searching in order to find a Blackhawk.

It would also be nice for manufacturers to realize that a sizeable number of consumers want modern features. I don’t love the fact that there is no factory offering from Ruger of a GP100 or SP101 with night sights. I had to source some from meprolight and install them myself. I also don’t love the black on black sights on my Blackhawk. I really wish it was offered with fiber optic sights, or that it was easy to change the sights on it.
