Everyone needs to be prepping ...It could be very easy for a country to descend into chaos ....Look to Europe in the next few months. It does not hurt to buy a few extras every week . I had a relative live in a small city During Covid He could not buy any toilet paper ... He was down to one roll and ordered it on Amazon ...It was not a wake up call for me ... But it was for him .

I'm not saying nothing is happening or going on, but I haven't seen or heard anything to support anything outside normal operations.
Sadly, Fort Drum had a Steam Co-Generation Electric Plant, but it was shut down a couple years ago; it was a boon to the local Woodsmen Community as it burned wood chips for fuel, The Hydro-Electric Plants in nearby Watertown are headed towards shut-down as their contract to supply the Grid is expiring, they've installed several hundred acres of Solar Panels, but that energy supposedly goes elsewhere either Canada or NYC...our electricity/gas bills like everyone else's have doubled even tripled, and that cunt and her green energy pals want us to re-elect them...my real thoughts on this might get me banned.

I can't really speak for other Military installations, but I have spent the last 39 years in the shadow of or serving on Fort Drum: there's always a preparedness and ability to function in a crisis, it may become arduous, spartan, even stagnate but they will survive.
Every year the Budget runs out on 30 September and often enough there isn't another Federal Budget in place, so "the money" is shut off sans a few absolute emergency accounts preloaded with funds...Can you imagine what would happen if the Federal Government in its entirety followed the Laws about not spending money you don't have in the account?

While I do not accept the tenants of LDS, I do appreciate their seemingly good and wholesome outward appearance (no swearing, R rated movies, modest dress, etc.) their position on provisioning heavily and well in advance...can't fault people for that, other things yes.

Off grid capable solar and an electric car makes the whole "no gas" thing kinda less of a big deal too.

After a week or so the wife would start getting real grumpy when she has to drink her coffee without fresh cream though.
