Do you at least have a premises residence pistol license? Fighting nypd licensing division is an uphill battle, they city has nearly unlimited taxpayer's money to keep denying your constitutional rights to bear arms, good luck.
Every county is different. In Suffolk County it just says Pistol License, Class/Type: Sportsman. It says nothing about carrying but it is still a carry license with restrictions. Only NYC issues "premises" pistol licenses, and they clearly say NOT for carry.
100000% agree, here on Long Island full carry never gets issued unless you are former LEO, the administrative "sportsman" restrictions are meaningless, Suffolk County has a form to "upgrade" to full carry but I have not heard of anyone getting approved...
I was surprised at the number of NYC residents with Maine permits, I wonder how many do not have a NYC or NYS pistol license. I have met a few that have Utah/Florida carry licenses but no NY permit.
LOL Speaking of foreign CCW My birth country of Peru has a “shall issue” licensing scheme for carrying concealed handguns, the downside is the caliber restriction up to 380 ACP/38 special. There is no 2A equivalent there but they do have a constitutional right to self defense. Imagine that...
With all the anchor babies reaching voting age I wouldn’t get too comfortable with Texas staying safely red. Remember the once upon a time Republican state of California?
Disorderly conduct is not even a crime in NY. It is a non criminal violation, the maximum jail time you can serve is 15 days. I do agree that CPW is an unconstitutional “crime” in NY and a few other commie states. But I would have charged the guy with reckless endangerment, every round fired...
There was already a similar case (I believe from the 7th circuit) regarding the 2A and illegal aliens. The court basically said that they do have a right to exercise their 2A rights, BUT they can still be charged, convicted and then deported for being an illegal alien in the possession of a...
I should have been more clear, as in no NY property ownership, Mr Osterweil still owned a home in NY, even though he spent most of his time in Louisiana. Bradford County, PA residents can also apply because of a reciprocity agreement with Chemug County.
My point was simple, with the exception of Bradford County,PA non NY residents are SOL if they want a pistol license, and not every NY resident that moves out of state will get to keep their pistol license. I don’t know where you got the idea that I was invalidating the NY licenses of Bradford...
There is no NYS law, or case law about former New Yorkers keeping their pistol license once they move out of state, or out of state residents with no New York connections being eligible to apply for one, the exception being those 2 PA counties.
I do not remember reading that last part a few years ago. Since there is nothing in NYS law about non residents applying for a NY pistol lisence, only case law regarding part time residents, a future licensing officer can take that option away.
I believe that only applies to first time applicants. There is case law about part time NY residents who mostly live out of state, but there is nothing specific about FORMER NY residents that no longer have a relation to NY. Some counties will let you keep your NY permit with an out of state...
Of course there is, can you imagine the amount of lawsuits there would be if they denied most people, I am one of those pistol licensees with a sealed “arrest” that I had to disclose only for a NY pistol license and nowhere else in the country. BUT Have you been following the Long Island gun...
From the complaint:
"Plaintiff attempted to contact Defendant Investigator Lorusso of the Suffolk County Pistol License Bureau, but Lorusso would neither take nor return his phone calls".
That prick was never in the office no matter what time of the day or week I called/stopped by, during the...
Same here, any arrest even if you are found not guilty is grounds for an automatic denial, suspension or revocation of a pistol license, especially downstate and thanks to the unSafe act confiscation of your long guns as well.
I hope they were all fingerprinted and that information forwarded to the DHS. Last year NYPD was ordered to give Desk Appearance Tickets and not to finger print those arrested at Trump tower when the end of DACA was announced. Mayor DeBastard was afraid of his voting base getting deported
Do you have a NYC "Premises" license or a restricted "business carry"? Don't say squat to NYPD about going out of state with your handguns, nypd would love to suspend/revoke your license (If you only have a premises permit). Sadly there is case law in their favor.
Matter of Beach v Kelly...
Highly doubt they can get LEOSA certified as a junior enlisted warrior, might have better luck if they retire as military police or separate after 10 years in good standing. If they’re living in NY they would still need a NY permit to BUY a pistol.
I'm confused, don't you already need an ID to REGISTER to vote in NY? I had to provide my driver's license information when I registered to vote (I did it through the DMV website). So how do people register to vote in the first place (outside of doing it online or at the dmv). I'm not talking...
NYC also issues a "carry guard" license for those that work as a security guard in an armed capacity. It is a carry license with administrative restrictions to your hours of employment
Look under license and permit types:

No registration that I'm aware of, but the state is appealing the Judge's ruling, just like they did with Peruta and the 10 day waiting period the 9th circus court of appeals is very likely to justify the ban/confiscation.
Someone made a good point that government cannot license a right. The license just to own and posses a handgun (forget about carrying it in public) makes it a privilege. You don't even have to buy it, cannot hold one at a store without a license. Possession of a handgun in NY is a felony unless...
