I have gotten .45 in the quantity of a muchness. I ordered a 400 round lot of their 9mm and found it to have above average accuracy at only a small premium over regular FMJ blaster ammo. Yes, I have indeed been shooting the snot out of the Colt and I intend to continue doing so.

I have hit 1,000 rounds with the Colt today. I have had 2 malfunctions both failures to feed due to bullets nosdiving on the magazine follower and both times it was with the factory magazine. I consider this level of reliability wholly satisfactory, surprising even.

What better thing to do on this sunny holiday? Been awhile since I shot the Shield, still a hoot to shoot. I'd say the recoil impulse of the Shield shooting +p defensive loads is quite similar to the 1911 with .45s. Meanwhile the Carry Comp feels like easy mode with an aimbot mod on.

Inconsistent today. But the Colr CAN stack em in there if I do my part. Shot @15yds with 230gr Speer Lawman. It is a very fun and satisfying gun to shoot though with 8 rounds on tap I always feel as the fun had stopped just as it got started.

That is a good idea. Especially for a .45 Super or .460 Rowland since those require conversion parts anyway, why not build one from the ground up?

A 3rd gen S&W automatic is under consideration. Particularly one of those 4006 Tactical models the California Highway Patrol used. Those things are sweet. Like @dsdmmat said earlier, 2011s are oversaturated. The market might welcome an updated version of some legacy designs.

I have 500 rounds of Speer Lawman sitting at home and 1k coming in from Atlanta Arms. I am going to be shooting the Colt a great deal while the price of .45 is as low as it is. I also have a holster, belt and mag pouches coming in eventually too

And here I thought shooting my 1911 would be an occasional indulgence! That's not much more than 9mm. I have 1k more rounds coming from Atlanta Arms now.

The internal mechanism is completely different. Some would claim superior to the original but tgere are MIM parts involved. The new Pythons are not as prone to going out of time however. All in all the new Pythons are very nice guns however one looks at it.

The bluing on those new Pythons is outstanding.

Colt Competition. The Blue G10 grips are factory, the other ones are Hogue Rosewood and I like them rather better. "An elegant weapon for a more civilized age".

Found a home for those wayward grips. To be clear I ordered this pistol last Saturday, BEFORE I ordered the grips. It is a Colt Competition model in .45. The grips are Hogue Rosewood.
