Gun transfer fees are like a deli selling lotto. When people come in they will browse around hoping to buy other stuff in the store. Transfer fees do not pay the bills.

Then that all needs to be specified. They would never refuse to do transfers bc most shops are registered on gun broker to get ammo an guns sent to them. Also are they charging a fee to do a backround check when you buy ammo?

What would happen if a dealer got reported for charging over $10 for a transfer fee?? Charging $10 for a transfer fee helps us more then it hurts the shop. There not paying the bills from transfer fees.

I read this on the NYS website about long gun transfers. I never knew it stated this. Theres not one gun shop following this “no more then $10” rule.

They tried this already an it failed. They actually mailed people back the $10 fee they charged. Our freshwater fee goes towards fish stocking programs so they cant justify charging for saltwater. They also tried charging people for a fishing license in Ireland (i have family there) an there...

Your right theres levels to everything. They are not life proof but offers the best protection you can get. I have a hard time believing the guns are rusted over after a few days of sitting in a damp environment. Maybe if the safe/guns were fully submerged ?
