I believe it was done deliberately to ensure a system remains in place which maintains the victimhood complex necessary to sustain leftist majorities.
Otherwise, why not just repeal the laws that they no longer want enforced? They need the police to continue enforcing certain laws so they can...
I personally don’t care either way unless my family is negatively affected.
This is shaping up to be a boon for overtime right as I reach the end of my career. It’s a huge win for smart cops.
But I am smart enough to know that it’s going to be a disaster for NY and it’s regular working...
Because it takes an army of people in various roles to prepare for a trial. The math works out, but not the reality.
This week there will be 3600 arrests and 3600 trials that took months to prepare for.
Arrest to trial in a week worked when there was 3 million people in the whole country and a respectful, low crime society. It’s impossible now.
When I worked in the Brooklyn courts, at any given moment we had around 600 people awaiting arraignment. That’s around 3600 arrests per week. Can you...
If it wasn’t for limited space, I would never sell a gun until my dying breath. Look where I live though. I have a small gun locker and a bench for reloading shoved in a corner of my attic. Until I can retire and move, I’m about maxed out.
@meketrefe, I have a 16” 7.62x39 already based on the PSA KS-47 platform. I built it when they actually sold the lowers and uppers stripped by cannibalizing a 7.62x39 AR I had built earlier with a Stoner barrel.
I have had success with that rifle on pigs and deer (and my cousin shot a ram with...
Ordered a bunch of parts from Right to Bear last night. If anyone is looking for AR parts, they are having a sick sale.
I grabbed the Faxon pencil barrel, 16”, for $189. Everywhere else it was around $250. Also a BCG, a RRA Varmint trigger (I have one already and like it) and the gas block and...
Crime stats are public information and will definitely be available. I can also state unequivocally that the publicly released crime stats (at least here in the city) do line up with what’s reported by the precincts which is within a slight margin of error and occasional misclassification, true...
What do you think of Stoner barrel/bolt combos? Midway has them at a decent price right now on sale. The whole bolt carrier.
Also, would you rather SBR (12.5”) or suppress a .308? Could you explain both to me for this caliber please when you get a chance.
This is what I bought so far:

Got it in burnt bronze.
Leaning towards a Stoner barrel and BCG from Midway next.
My barrel is .311. I’ve loaded .308 heads before and not noticed much of a difference though. I just read so much about x39 being an “anemic” round for deer.
Anyway, I did make a decision. Ordered a matched set of AR-10 receivers from Live Free Armory. I’m going to build the lightest 16” AR-10...
Honestly I don’t care about the environmental aspects at all. I do a ton of city driving, which is where EV’s perform best. Sometimes just driving my kids back and forth to their mothers is 40 miles a day for me of stop and go traffic, it’s crazy. My Outback averages 26 or so with my normal...
I came very close to buying one a few months ago. Decided on another Subaru instead. I’m fairly certain that our next cars will be EV’s though, ESPECIALLY if Subaru has one by then. My friend has a Tesla and I absolutely love it except for the ride height and styling.
Maybe “enforce” isn’t the right word. More like comply with and ensure compliance with. Better? The point is that infringements mostly start and end at the point of sale. Cops have absolutely nothing to do with that process.
Cop out (pun intended) to ensure cops can be blamed for everything. Weak argument intellectually.
The fact remains that FFL’s enforce the vast majority of guns laws. You can blame cops for that all you want, it doesn’t make it true.
Cops don’t even know most of the gun laws enforced by FFL’s
You're actually far more likely to find a cop willing to use discretion on any given law than an FFL willing to overlook a single gun law. PM me the name of a single FFL that will sell me a gun without a background check and I promise to only give them my business from now on, no matter how far...
No one will, because like most gun laws, this wouldn't be enforced by cops. It would be enforced by FFL's refusing to sell guns to people in the first place, or an add on charge by DA's after an arrest for some other reason.
When gun crimes spike they will definitely look for more gun laws. They’ve successfully de-balled the police (with much help from people on our side even), a major step towards creating the necessary lawlessness which will lead to further government control.
They’ve done a good job of framing the discussion around the bail reform portion only. Most people have no clue what I am talking about when I bring up the other - far worse - aspects of this law.
My department literally put out a video that says, “we can no longer ensure the safety and...
I spent the last two days watching training videos on these new laws. It’s bad. Really bad. Way beyond the bail reform portion. The new discovery rules will make the process from arrest to trial nearly impossible and cause total gridlock in police operations as already thin margins of personnel...
Well for now I ordered a Magpul MOE stock to replace the A2 stock. Hopefully that makes it more comfortable for me and maybe I won’t mind the weight that way.
It’s currently sporting an 18” barrel. I’m going to try to keep it that way.
Hmm... so what about shortening my AR10 instead? How’s .308 out of shorter barrels? I’ll switch out the A2 stock for a much lighter one and rebuild the upper with a 16” barrel.
Now we really need @meketrefe!
I came close to jumping in on the .357 Gunner years ago but chickened out on making my own brass. I was new to reloading then and didn't want to commit to that.
I think I'm going to pass just because of how expensive this caliber is. I'm going to research .450 and .350 more I think.
For the hunting situation this rifle will be used for, it doesn't seem worthwhile to go with 6.8 considering how much more expensive it is.
Why are SPC barrels so expensive?!?
All of the other “hot” calibers are actually pretty cheap, especially .350 and .450. But SPC barrels cost as much as full uppers in other brands!
I've been thinking that, but I saw the list of powders I'd need for this round and they seem like one's I would have trouble getting my hands on. I'd probably do a large group buy right away. I'm all over the place. lol
Only issue for me with that is I have had 7.5" barrels before and sold them off because of the concussion. My 7.62x39 pistol was like shooting a .50 cal. I hated it.
