Yes. But only him, I and two cousins. I’m not really from a cop family so to speak. I work with people who go back generations with multiple in each generation.
My father was in a gunfight in the 80’s with a guy who took like 15-20 rounds and was still firing at them until he ran out of ammo. The way my father tells it, he basically died as soon as he ran out of ammo. It was like his brain was fixated on one thing and one it had to recognize a major...
That’s what I meant. Like .357 is probably the absolute best handgun caliber for defensive “power” but other than some older guns, its only in revolvers.
Obviously energy is the key. It’s the difference between the various handgun calibers which is the rub here. Is it really enough to make a difference? Also I think we’re mostly talking the difference between 9mm, .40 and .45acp.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen Will...
I hate to get into this ongoing argument, but he’s right. Especially with the typical cop hollow points which don't usually exit, which would have caused two holes for faster bleeding.
Most people stop fighting when shot, but most people trading shots or otherwise combatting cops with weapons...
We’re taught to combat reload after every group of shots when the action slows. You don’t drop the mag in this type of reload so that you can reuse what’s left if it comes to that. I agree with that tactic. Why put yourself in a position where you may have to reload in the middle of the next...
No reload after those first shots?
The initial cop does not have the mindset to be an officer. Hopefully he left the force after this incident before he gets more cops hurt.
The second cop has balls of steel taking those shots to save the boob’s life. I’d work with that guy any day.
There is nothing wrong with that Anderson lower. It will last you years and years without any noticeable difference between it and another brand except for the price you originally paid.
“Well that’s like, your opinion man.”
No offense, but what else is there to say? As far as I know, our legal system has ALWAYS provided for various pre-conviction/acquittal steps to ensure things such as victim safety, witness protection, return to court, etc.
Do you disagree with bail as...
Its a separate step, and requires a different level of proof to acquire or else (as should be obvious) why would a separate warrant be needed?
This was all discussed above and apparently in this part of Florida is the same as where I am, so I know two places at least.
No knock warrants are...
My guns were taken during a divorce, for 16 months. I know both sides.
Our system of law depends on judges. A judge can remove almost every right you have, temporarily, permanently, in whole, in part, etc. It’s always been that way.
Due process doesn’t work the way you describe above. You’re...
Well they didn’t have one here...
And you don’t know. Warrants are hard to get. I do know. You have your examples of no-knocks, I get it. Throw them in my face. But that’s not a representative number and you know that.
That’s a great plan if your goal is to maybe kill a cop or two but DEFINITELY die while proving that the removal order was justified and should be more heavily enforced against the next guy.
I'm '78. Started high school in 1993. But I remember the 80's well from the active kid end and also because my coolest uncle is only 10 years older than me so my cousin and I (grew up like brothers) had someone to show us all the cool kid stuff
@Podmonkey I’m a GenX’er and I love “us”. I think our generation truly had the best of both worlds, especially those of us who were slightly older in the 80’s than I was. Say like born in 1970 or so. Our only major suck is that all of our best musicians OD’d or killed themselves.
Read that posted article. If true, its pretty close to how we do it and a separate warrant would be necessary to forcibly remove them. That article lays it out almost exactly the same way it happens here.
Sticky situation. Obviously the charges she’s facing fit exactly what she supposedly did, but were they necessary? I read an article that said he was actually ordered to turn over the guns for domestic issues and hadn’t done so. If that’s the case, I don’t see how any charges stick against her...
If his case was still pending, I suppose. But it will very likely be wrapped up by then. The DA already declined to ask for bail. He’ll probably end up pleading to a misdemeanor gun charge and be done with it.
Just got the final word.
Apparently he was a weed dealer. Arrested for the weed and the shotgun and another gun, both modified so technically “firearms” in NYS. But he’s not being charged with the homicide. Done deal.
Over the last two weeks I have completely revamped my training routine and almost totally stopped drinking. I do this occasionally to keep things fresh. I am down 5lbs and have seen strength gains in all of the major movements.
I am currently in a split routine where I do upper body only...
It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I will have close information as time goes on. I’ve dealt with the deceased a LOT in the past. My kid’s school is within sight of the shooting scene.
Thankfully, I have training in Queens today. ;)
Burglary-gone-wrong eyed in Staten Island...
None of this is to establish actual civil liability. It is simply a push to restore their prior tactic of malicious lawsuits designed simply to put gun dealers out of business via excessive court/lawyer fees.
I agree with @Willjr75 on everything except the fact that if I could start all over I wouldn’t do it.
Now granted of course I would because I would never risk changing anything that would effect my kids having been born, but theoretically if at 23 (when I left the Army) I knew what I know now...
The way they write at the end of their article makes me want to smack the shit out of them and every dumbass who believes that following the law can somehow equate to civil liability for gun dealers.
As long as it remains illegal to conduct sex work on the streets, its fine by me. Let the degenerates catch all the diseases their blood streams can handle (at least temporarily) while generating some extra tax revenue.
I need to start road tripping around north central PA. I think that might be a good spot for my getaway home in a few years. Lots of hunting land it looks like out that way.
Altoona looks a little far for me. As much as it seems I get around, my free time is very limited. It takes a lot of moving parts for me to get away with my kids and my stepkid.
I prefer to be in uniform as little as possible nowadays, even at work. Not every cop hater confines their hatred to their mommy’s basement keyboard. It is not worth the trouble of a gunfight, especially while off the clock. Why wear it?
Around here it is not common to wear the uniform even to...
