You aren’t a cop hater. That fat piece of shit is. Show me one of these threads where that fat fuck even begrudgingly admitted a cop was right, even once.
Actually don’t, I couldn’t see it anyway lol
Yes but if he was on lunch break, that implies he was going back on the clock. I can think of so many scenarios where he would become separated from that car for long periods of time. Just not the brightest decision in my opinion.
It wouldn’t be hearsay in this case either.
It’s really simple.
You hear, “Rape!” from the victim = not hearsay.
You hear, “I just heard someone say rape over there.” = hearsay.
Gotcha. Yeah that’s acceptable. But personally I wouldn’t risk an expensive item like that being in my RMP still. God forbid he gets hurt later in the shift? He won’t see that car for awhile.
You have a point but I just got fed up. It’s the most retarded act I’ve ever seen in person or online. Not worth my time to even see it, much less have to choose whether or not to respond.
Anyway, did you see my second part? If I was in this guy’s chain of command I’d highly discourage doing...
Oh shit, that’s pretty funny. I’ve been ignoring that loser for months. First time it’s affected a comment of mine lol.
What the fuck is wrong with you guys for not doing the same? Come on!
That’s a dumb analogy. Firefighters don’t carry axes during the vast majority of their career while doing even most FF’er duties. Cops ALWAYS have guns on them.
He shouldn’t have went in uniform though. That’s just dumb regardless except for very minor shopping.
Exactly. Celt you are correct in everything you say, but is it criminal? I don’t see how that’s possible but the courts will decide now. Bail was set so at least one judge so far saw merit in some of the charges.
Our policy is to immediately enter an active shooter situation as well, even if alone. But POLICY is not LAW. If I chickened out, breaking that policy, I would be fired, but I cannot be charged criminally. No different than any other of the departments various regulations.
While the VTL exempts...
No, we don't. We have exemptions within the very same laws that exist for everyone, and only while on-duty for the most part. The military has an entirely different set of enforceable criminal laws.
Maybe there should be, I don't know. For whatever reasons, after nearly 200 years municipal...
1. The military has its own set of laws. No comparison.
2. At least in NY, cops are mandatory reporters as well. I have personally known cops who've been severely punished for failing to properly report child abuse and/or maltreatment.
3. The Supreme Court case you (and many) reference does...
Fuck this guy, but as others have said, I can’t see where they’re going to prove criminality except maybe on the perjury charge.
He breached a civil/social/job contract, clearly, but criminal?
Sounds like the deceased officer announced himself, was shot at, reported ok and then was shot at again. That’s likely where the charges come from. Also why i said I’d have killed the shooter. At that point we’d be going in to kill whoever was shooting from inside.
Unless I was around the corner, didn’t witness it and got there and the guy was bawling and the situation was clear, that’s just what I would do. Just being honest.
Where I work we typically stay together on burglary alarm calls, so I’d have witnessed this and shot the guy immediately.
They shouldn’t be teaching those classes then. They problem are “experts” on the handful of of laws most cops encounter regularly but don’t know shit about the majority of the remainder.
I’ll give you a great example.
A few weeks ago my sister and her Gf were assaulted. They are lesbians. When the boy started hitting her, he made a statement about her being a lesbian. The fight though had started over regular teenage issues.
My father and the father of her GF, both retired...
Because people who don’t regularly work with the law AND all precedent and court cases surrounding various sections cannot just quote the letter of the law with any reasonable possibility of coming close to reality.
When posters here just pull up the various laws and nitpick each word it is -...
The felony charge he has - the only charge he’s facing after killing two people - was unavoidable in NY the second the troopers checked the gun’s registration. And he has a lawyer, did I miss that he spoke without one?
Talking to the troopers like he has is very likely why he is only charged with the "illegal" gun possession, which would have been immediately obvious to them anyway once his name was run. The only reason he hasn't been charged with the perps' deaths is because he told a story consistent with...
Years ago a Navy vet in Brooklyn got off on this charge in a similar situation. The gun was legally his, just not in NY. He had bought it while in the Navy. Also, the perp didn't die.
No one follows or enforces that 200rd thing. It’s a fire code. It can literally only be enforced after the fact. As in, your house burnt down and the fire marshals find the remains of more than 200rd in the ashes.
They’re hanging on the fact that the forward grip is part of the gun from the manufacturer. That won’t hold up in a NY court, not a chance.
Like @Willjr75 said this and an “assault pistol” are exactly the same. The grip is removable just like any other (not that I think a non-removable grip...
I charged a licensed pistol holder with CPW a few weeks ago. He was charged CPW only for the one weapon which he menaced his wife with. I posted about it here in the thread that started this discussion (the one I said I can’t find). That’s exactly what brought this on, people saying that’s not...
Some of you may remember me saying months ago that criminal possession of a weapon in NY can and will be charged in cases where the weapon was initially possessed legally but was used in an illegal manner, changing possession to criminal. No shot I can find that thread, but I’m sure some...
Well if this matters, my “opinion” is that I could make a probable cause arrest upon observing this firearm in someone’s possession and that it would hold up in any NY criminal court.
I wouldn’t due to my personal beliefs, but I could, 100%.
Ok cool, if that’s what it is, it’s gone. Every time I fired, it stopped the shell from fully ejecting. Thankfully the birds were already receiving lead...
Can someone ID this clip for me and tell me what purpose it serves? It seems to only mess up ejection and make loading tougher on the fingers.
This shotgun was given to me awhile ago and came like this. I rarely use it so it was never a problem. This weekend I shot it a bunch and now I want to...
