Well most of the people you are referring to don’t have “running into armed combat” as part of their job duties, so...
I also never said he should have gotten shot. Like I said in another post recently, “debating” here is getting quite boring, this being another example of why.
Attack me for...
I read that the whole area was cleared of civilians since he was holed up in the RV. At some point he opened fire from inside, so the cops just started firing back. If the area was cleared, I really don't see the problem.
I don’t plan on giving up a single gun to anyone no matter new laws they craft. Worst case, I’ll give up my documented handguns to appease whoever and create a false sense of triumph. At no point in my lifespan will I ever be disarmed.
Well they knew their target and hit it: the guy holding a gun during a shooting/hostage call.
Guy’s an ex-con too, so unfortunately for him he likely had a look that didn’t help when the cop(s) is amped up, running in as we’re trained to do, with no regard for our own lives during active...
I’d like to know more about this one. Hard to pass judgement. We’re literally ripping apart a department that stayed outside and did nothing, can’t then turn around and immediately fault a cop who ran in with unknown info and shot the person he saw holding the gun.
It would be nice to hear...
Not where I work, but they aren’t actually legal so useage is still limited to those who are willing to acquire them via black market means, a mental barrier that stops many people. We know this because when opiod pills were being dealt willy nilly by doctors, thereby legitimizing their use...
Notice the “gay” reference. Definitely a young lefty indoctrinated in leftists college beliefs. It’s comedic to see this stuff in action, but worse is that some do fall for it.
I’m not saying change isn’t needed. I’m referring to legalization. Laws don’t have to stay the way they are, but legalization is absurd.
We don’t put people in jail for most drug crimes anymore, that is a myth caused by the old laws (at least in NY).
Separate the extremes. I’m not advocating...
There’s rumors that they were told to wait outside. I wonder if we will ever know the truth. You said it correctly earlier. We are supposed to listen to our bosses as they hopefully have more info than we do and are making the right choices.
So if true, I wouldn’t put this on the individual...
As far as I know, the main group it was happening on deleted everything. If I see anything, I’ll copy and paste.
And yes, most departments have a “go in immediately” policy for active shooter situations. Even if I’m alone, I’m supposed to go in.
They are getting roasted in cop groups online. One facebook group I am a member of booted quite a few members for absolutely demolishing that department.
Suboxone was the one I was thinking of. Couldn’t remember before.
I’m too consumed lately with how to convince my stepfather to help me swap a WRX engine into my Baja next year. :D
Yeah West Virginia is dirt cheap and likely will remain so throughout the rest of our lifespan. I’m planning to keep my house here in retirement. It’s small, cheap, and will be very close to if not paid off in 10-12 years.
This has literally happened with legal marijuana. I’ve seen forms of heroin and other opiods as well. For awhile, “strips” were very popular. Basically a disolving strip you put in your mouth like those listerine things.
Let’s back up. I asked of those who want to legalize all drugs what thought process has gone into any possible results. I mentioned other things besides crime.
Are you saying that basically that’s not your concern?
No one to “defend” against those crimes. By definition they happen when no one is around. As a direct quality of life issue, citizens tend to get angry when those crimes rise in frequency.
Ok, and as I’ve asked twice already. That’s great, now what’s the plan to deal with the resulting effects?
The problem with this site is everyone wants to spout platitudes, but that’s about as “meaty” as the discussions ever get. It’s boring. I rarely join in anymore for this reason.
Let’s...
The countries we are always compared to in these articles are far different than the US. There’s too many factors at play to make a valid comparison. No different than when people try to equate Australia’s (or other’s) laws to ours.
Homogeneity of population has been shown to greatly effect...
Well being that I deal in reality and already have plenty of drug-related crimes to deal with (not sales or whatever but actual crimes comitted y users against law-abiding citizens), I know that easier access to drugs will only exacerbate that problem.
I don’t deal in pie-in-the-sky theories...
I couldn't care less about the gangs. They will always exist.
The burden will simply shift. As opposed to combatting drug sales, we’ll be combatting drug user crime to maintain their habit. Unless of course Darth has some idea of how heroin will suddenly become even cheaper than the $5 or so a...
I discuss politics sensibly with democrats all the time. I'm a member on facebook of a "resistance" group specifically for this reason. I believe it keeps me sharp intellectually to constantly battle with them. Most of the time it's extremely civil.
The key is to be amongst educated people (and...
A cop should be in every school due to communication issues with responding officers. But teachers are guaranteed to be in every school. Trained trachers prepared to do violence against those who would do so against their students are a force multiplier that absolutely needs to be tapped into.
Yes you can. You only need to follow the laws of the state you are in.
Technically you could bring your NYC handguns to PA, FL and NJ and the only way you could get in trouble would be NYC revoking your permit should something happen.
No you haven’t if your driver’s license says VT.
I don’t see what the issue is here? You are a Vermont resident currently staying in NY. You’re good to go, you’ve just unfortunately lost your NY permit.
There’s no crime in moving your guns back to your resident state where they are legal...
I hate to break it to you, but just because YOU don't know the name of the witness, doesn't mean that a story is fake. Police are often REQUIRED to protect the identity of witnesses. YOU (ie, the public) are not entitled to the names of accusers, only the accused is.
