You have to cut it down. I take off the same amount as the set screw is long then see how hard it is to move the take down pin. If it's too tight I nip a little more off.
If you want the real deal go with the pelican. I traveled all over the world diving with my gear in pelican cases and never had a single problem. I eventually used one for clothes after destroying 5 or so good suitcases over the span of a few years.
Nice shooting! I went the other day and I sucked lol. Didn't shoot much last year because of broken ankle and lost a lot of my mojo. Hopefully things will get better again with some more range time.
You can't get at it from inside. Drill or grind the bolt off on the mag catch side not the button.
Let me guess, moving to Hollywood to work with Spielberg on his next big film? Remake of Cocktail and you play Tom Cruises part?
Just joking, I m sure your moving because of a chick. You gotta...
I know you said bolt action but I would suggest a Ruger 10/22. Once she gets used to it you can do upgrades to make it more accurate over time. Lots of aftermarket parts and the price for the rifle would be cheaper than what your looking to spend.
3 lug adapter pinned and welded.
There is also the option of integrally suppressed which is the first thing I'm going to do with a 10/22 or 77/22:headbang:
