I have found that the type and quality of plate carrier really changes how much you actually feel the weight of your gear. If you are used to that 45lb+ mark though then you should have no issue.
And it you need it for SHTF and you never trained in it... you will just be a resupply for someone after they take it off your body.
I don't think everyone needs to have top tier equipment. I just think everyone needs to know what they have and what their limitations are and train accordingly.
RMA #1155's are the most affordable Level IV ceramic that is made in the USA and is actually NIJ *Certified*. Most companies claim that they are NIJ *Tested* which means nothing because there is no oversight to their testing. It could work or it could not work... your life may or may not depend...
The Level IV plates are advertised as having 10x12" protection however... they really only offer 8x10" of protection ... There is 1" of foam that runs the entire edge of the plates. So 1" for each side = -2" of protection. Mr. Gunsngear made a good video showing that they do offer protection...
Hahaha I do agree that those are worse! As I mentioned, I do believe the OP did good work at home. Any deviation from the original on older military rifles pre 1980 is just not kosher in my book though.
I am in a selling mood! I am preparing for my second child that I just found out is on the way!

Agreed. It fits about 7 or 8.
And yeah.... Between goose, duck, turkey, pheasant, small game and deer loads I have about approximately 1500 hunting loads.
I love the 50cal cans. I just bought 4 from Ammocanman.com. They work well for all my other calibers, but not so much for 12 gauge. The geometry just doesn't work out as well. The closest thing I could find is this...
I work odd hours and don't have a range within 25 minutes of me. I am hoping to not have to skip all over the place for them. Thank you for the tip though. I might have to do that if I get desperate.
I am looking for the boxes that hold a flat of shells. That would be the ones that hold ten 25 round boxes. (I don't need the individual 25 round boxes right now.) I am looking for as many as I can get. The closer to a dozen, the happier I will be though. I am hoping maybe someone that works at...
I still have the vietnam war era canteen up for grabs if anyone is interested. I know it doesn't compare to primers and powder, but somebody must have a use for it!
As promised, here are a few items I found during the move that I am willing to offer up for free!
#1- NRA Golden Eagles Belt Buckle
It is made in the USA and appears to be solid brass. It has a tiny bit of tarnish approx. 1/8 in diameter on the front. It states this is limited edition and has a...
I am still unpacking from a move so we haven't had a chance to play yet. I am thinking we will have a good game around St. Paddy's Day. I am dying to use them though!
I am texas hold em kind of guy. Very interested if no one has claimed these yet. These will definitely be a great conversation piece at the next poker night!
