Rochester Shooting, 2 Dead 14 Wounded.

Just a quick addition to the prior post. Its almost like a "Keiser Soze" syndrome. The "groups "may not always be there, but ever lurking in the background.

Trump promises best year ever next year - vows to protect gun rights

Understanding this may be our only chance to revert back to what was before ridiculous laws were passed, it certainly hasn't had a great track record to reflect upon. I believe the last SCOTUS 2A case reviewed was Heller, 10 years ago, and 10 cases were punted on earlier this year. I've read...

Rochester Shooting, 2 Dead 14 Wounded.

I have to side with @spat on this. People may fear the police in the area, but fear retaliation by "groups" even more IMO. They know the police can't be everywhere at all times, and believe the "groups " are ever present in thier neighborhoods. Additionally, police follow laws, "groups " make...

Ruth Bader Ginsburg Dies At 87

And were running a deficit, aren't we? Funny how we can as a state find funding for this and not other expenses, like , oh, I dont know, state employees raises, teachers, schools, menial , trivial things like I mentioned.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg Dies At 87

Thank you for clarity. If I remember correctly, the average confirmation takes around 80 or so days, so still well within thier elected terms. Nonetheless it still may have an impact on senatorial races this election cycle.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg Dies At 87

Just read that the average number of days from nomination to appointment puts any possible new SCOTUS candidate past the election date. Can't remember exactly how many days, but all well past 40 days. I wonder how this plays out overall. Some here could help educate ( knowledgeable in process)...

Just got a news alert that erie county NY has curfew 10:30 to 7:00am

Actually, the police in Rochester had to move the protesters from the entrances of city hall, as they were blocking them. The cleanup occurred after they were moved

Uncle Joe does it again (saying something dumb about covid or something. Stop using bad generic titles. Say what it's actually about)

Understanding that a forum itself is social media, and that social media isn't the be all/end all of information and rarely is correct, i still believe the full course of information is required. I believe that most people here are either conservative or independent ( I could be wrong), and...

Rochester police department command staff, including the chief of police, is resigning.

Agreed. Suburbs here too. Work in the city. In just the few years I've been here I could tell you the city isn't the place to be. Within the few years of moving here, this has happened near my employer, right outside the building; Had a vendor visit. While smoking outside, shot in the leg...

Rochester police department command staff, including the chief of police, is resigning.

I should clarify. I do not support or condone any of the actions taken by these protests. There are ways to make changes, simply at the ballot box, lawfully and peacefully.

Rochester police department command staff, including the chief of police, is resigning.

I haven't lived in Rochester long. Has she done anything positive for the city? Would it be a loss if she actually stepped down?
  19. Jchrisls

Rochester police department command staff, including the chief of police, is resigning.

Isn't her position on this inherently flawed? She originally supported his position, then when the heat was turned up, she tried to distance herself from said heat, throwing him under the bus, in essence supporting the opposition, who wants her removed? Logic to her must be a fallacy...

Be on alert in Rochester - Video released in black mans death

This is such BS. The man did as instructed, and now sacrificed his career. What are we now in for? The inmates now run the asylum.

Always wanted an omega! Did a similar thing at Ft. Collins Colorado with a Citizens Blue Angel Atomic watch. Have a photo somewhere of it on my wrist in front of the WWVB atomic transmitter :). Old school! ;)

With regards to the learned skills of carpentry VS new trains of thought I couldn't agree with you more. So many new ways and tools for construction, many just gadgets to compensate for that lack of knowledge or skill with an existing tool. This I agree with, and could go on for hours about also.

Why would a fixed mag be considered a range toy?

This could be applied to anything additional brought to the fight, stripper clips or magazines. This doesn't hold water. Anything additional based on your statement would be a fault. EX-how would you plan to bring additional magazines to a fight? Flawed logic

Why would a fixed mag be considered a range toy?

First, to imply one is as immature as to believe real life situations and video games or films are one in the same is absurd and immature. To insinuate that I potentially am of that ilk is equally immature and asinine. It's a question, maybe simplistic on the eyes of others, but it is just...

Why would a fixed mag be considered a range toy?

From a gun shop owners perspective, that would be ignorant certainly, but I don't believe it's the same level of ignorance as a new owner. Similar to the dumb VS stupid argument. And if I'm correct, I counted 17 rounds, which I believe was 9 rounds by the perpetrator and 8 by LEOS

Oh I'm well aware of it. He was hit by more than 1 officer, from more than 1 angle, from several rifles. And I wouldn't say ignorant, new is more appropriate.

Why would a fixed mag be considered a range toy?

I believe I saw the mother daughter liquor store duo shooting breakdown on ASP. I was aware that the statistics were dated, but was unaware these are considered fudd lore. I also know well that a single shot rarely puts someone out of the fight, and that it usually takes several.

Sorry for the double post. I took this in serious consideration before I made my decision. It's also why I have many of these loaders ready to go at a moment's notice.
  43. Jchrisls

Why would a fixed mag be considered a range toy?

True. I wasn't able to discern if that average was with a single aggressor or multiple aggressors. Facts regarding actual self defense statistics involving specifics are difficult to find, and sometimes outright wrong.
  44. Jchrisls

Why would a fixed mag be considered a range toy?

Fortunately both brands have very good retention, similar to a magazine, albeit the BF is better, and my go to if shtf. All of my loaders are loaded for just that scenario.
