I've got issue with the "unregistered assault weapon" part, but the idiots had it coming. Drinking and shooting don't mix. They give the entire gun community a bad name. We're already stereotyped enough.
Do you know if everyone who submits a request (after the 3-5 years) is approved, or do you have to do other things? I'm tempted to call this one yellow because of the time requirement, but I'm not sure yet.
Rose hips are easy to harvest and can make a decent jam. You've just got to add bunches of sugar. I've eaten them raw before, but they don't taste great. You could always steep some of them in some water and make a weak tea.
Make sure to watch out eating liver, heart, and other organs if you...
I usually have about 100 pounds of dog food on hand. That lasts a couple of months for my two labs. They can get scraps if something happens. While this wouldn't get us through a long term SHTF scenario, it would certainly get us through natural disasters and short term issues.
There are tons of blackberries around going up and down the driveway. We used to pick gallons of them as kids. There are a couple raspberries around. I should probably dig them up and bring them closer to the yard. My reason for choosing grapes this coming up year was because they will take a...
Every year for mothers and fathers say, I get them a new edible plant. They've gotten 3 apple trees and 3 blueberries so far. I was thinking about grapes next year and raspberries the year after.
Obviously, I'm not @Airborneguy , but I'll answer how I would do it.
If they don't know you're carrying, there's no need to tell them unless it may become visible.
If you carry your wallet in your back right pocket, and you have to lean forward to get it out, you may want to tell them. If...
As long as they're used to noise, it won't be an issue.
My parents heat with wood. A lot of the time, we'll drop a tree in the late spring and start to cut it up. Once we get the trailer full, we'll take it back to the house. When we come back for more, sometimes we'll scare deer off because...
They have SOOOO much info there. Did you find the local club, Upstate Reef Society, on there? Now that it's getting colder, people will start paying more attention to their tanks and start posting more in the local club forum.
I'm creating a pistol permit map, but I don't know the relative difficulty in obtaining a "full" carry license with no restrictions in all the counties. I've filled in the map with the counties I know. I'll keep updating this map if people let me know what each county should be. Please go from...
Welcome!
I used to be super into saltwater tanks. I had a 75 reef for years. At one point there were over a dozen tanks in my basement that were used to breed clownfish. I used to sell them to the local stores for about $10 each. I assume that you know about reefcentral.com?
This is something I've thought about. Most of my group would be family. 50 or 60 years ago, my grandparents gave land to their children as wedding presents if they wanted it. Therefore, we have a bunch of family all within a few miles of each other. Most of my family lives within 20 miles or so...
You can read about our issues with what happened at NYF in both my and @HEX resignation thread in the announcements section over there.
Welcome to the site!
I rob the trees too! I've just got a small 30" square flat pan over an old oil barrel though. Makes about 5 gallons a year which is enough for the immediate family.
After tasting a few different honeys, I decided that I liked the fall flavors better. They seem to be stronger and more flavorful. They're all good though.
A little bit of everything. I'd probably say that goldenrod is the dominant flavor now. In the spring, it's a true mix. Lots of clover and other wildflowers.
Is anybody else a beekeeper? Any interest in beekeeping? I did my fall harvest last weekend and got a little over 2.5 gallons of honey. No too bad for two hives that were started in the Spring.
My mother in law sent me this picture the other day. Unfortunately, it's a little too far south. All the way in TN. Nice sow. She had a couple cubs with her. Apparently a larger boar came around the next day.
If this did happen in the US, some states have laws that protect people from civil suits who act in self defense. He'd get roasted in a civil suit in NY though.
Not to kill, but to stop the threat. (which he did)
Since he didn't know the threat was stopped, he kept shooting. I say justified. Really though, he should have stayed in the car and locked the doors. He saw the guy with the pipe and had plenty of time to get back in his car and lock the...
I think I want to separate politics totally out of The Clubhouse. That way people don't have to be "exposed" to non firearms politics and laws at all if they don't want to.
