Even if it is hard, if it's worth doing it shouldn't be an issue. To me, the only hard thing is not trying to do something because others say it is hard. YouTube can be your friend.
It's not a "Glock" ban but is a ban on any firearm using a Cruciform trigger bar. Glock is just the most notable as it uses that part in almost all their firearms. That is the reason you will have a very hard time finding the usual Glock models and the reason Glock is producing V version models...
Yea, we always have to play defense because most just grin and bear it when we shouldn't have to in the first place. Just more ways of banning certain firearms without actually banning them.
I wholeheartedly agree but how many gun owners are in this state that are simply too damn lazy to try. 10,000, half a million how many of us are there? Seems like every other weird ass group greases the squeaky wheel and gets things done. All we can do is face the fact that most gun owners like...
That's great but try finding a new or even used "banned" model as Glock has stopped making them a while ago. Even the new V model uses the same transfer bar with the exception that they are not accessible like the old ones. That is until someone figures out how to circumvent that, then they will...
What is sad is the fact that we will come here, go to FFL's, coffee shops, etc. and bitch like hell but nary a one will take two minutes to bitch to their supposed representatives. I know many will say nothing will come of it but spending hours bitching to the choir makes them feel better.
Ok, so how is this going to work in NY? As we all know the hurdles are much tougher here and it does say FFL and buyer must be in the same state.. Being how it's a federal form I assume it won't change anything for ammunition sales, correct?
Why is that? Most smaller FFL's will give a little better price, especially if it has been sitting around for a while. You would think you knew that being as how you worked the other side of the counter.
The five minutes you talk about is only what you see and don't necessarily apply to all people. Federal and state forms to fill out, storing them so when the ATF comes a calling you are organized as they will fine you for the smallest paperwork error. Not as easy as the five minutes you speak...
I waited till his wholesaler ran a sale then bought from him. Was about the same price but had to wait quite a while. At my age the need overruled the want.
What happens when all the small shops shut down and you could really use something in the spur of the moment? Guess there is always...
The problem is online retailers use giant wholesalers or direct buying to sell products and the local FFL's can't operate like them. I asked a good friend of mine, an FFL, if he could get me a gun at the same price I see on the internet. He showed me one of his supplier web pages for that...
You're not preaching but are just telling the facts. Same as the guy who says he just gave you $1500 for a firearm you made 1-2 hundred on. Takes a lot of those sales to keep the insurance, heat, licenses, mortgage, costs of doing business, upkeep or rent paid all the while people think you are...
Most of those transfers are drop shipped from the same places the gun shop get theirs. Maybe people should contact these shops and see if they can get what they want. Pay me now or pay me later to do the paperwork these other "shippers" don't have to do.
Yes, but in order to be properly received in NY it has to be entered into an FFL's books to be put on a permit. That means it has to be received from someone. going the other way it needs to be sent from an FFL in order for you to get it taked off your permit.
They did not just move out of state but were either sold or taken over. It's not even just Remington anymore but RemArms. I don't personally think they will ever go into production of some models.
An instance like that is very rare in rural gun shops. Answering questions and doing the actual sale and paperwork take much longer than putting the gun back on the shelf. Used guns are an even longer deal in some shops as they will let you go out and actually test fire the firearm. Case in...
No. You put the price on your burger and that's what I'll pay you or not stay. Ripped off? If you feel that way don't go there. I guess you just don't know how much time and aggravation is involved with what you say is so simple. You ever own or work in a gun shop? If the answer is no then you...
You don't have to use any FFL if you don't want to or come on this site. That's a personal action on your part. They are providing a service for you and it is up to you whether you use them or not, plain and simple. So, if I walk by your house carrying, I should be able to send you a bill for...
I've helped with estate deals and my first question is always what do you want to get out of them. If they don't know or ask what they can get, the answer is always what it makes it worth it to my FFL. Noone forcing anybody to do anything. As I said, something can be worked out even if it means...
Your statements are kind of off the mark with this thread. I'll respond to two of your statements though.
1."Prices on transfers and ammo were crazy."
you buy ammo online giving the profit to the seller and expect a gun shop to receive it, store it and comply with state law for nothing...
He is one of the few who voice his opinion in the state legislature standing up for our rights. By the way, he was originally sworn in on the eve of the UNSAFE act and fights against it to this day. This whole thing is nothing more than a political "hit" piece without any semblance to who the...
Just take a copy of death certificate and the deceased pistol permit to an FFL. Don't deal with law enforcement if possible. Don't make a mountain out of a simple process.
I also am going on 73 and our OPINIONS are just that, opinions. America will never wake up as long as people have a I don't give a .... attitude. I really don't care what you were but now it seems you are defeated.
You are correct, and that is their plan. Ignore us and we will eventually just go away. Gun owners are their own worst enemy. By the way, I'm old and have taken criticism my whole life for my opinions and it doesn't bother me at all when others disagree.
I can agree with all of that but I'm just a crusty old man who, if I don't agree with someone especially a politician, I go right to the source and let them know. After 70+ years it is your right to not want to give a "phuck" anymore, but your original post said you were pissed at a store for...
Look, I'm 72 years old and have been preaching how we are are own worst enemy for probably longer than you've been alive. Don't tell me I have no "phucking idea" about anything. Maybe you should go sit in a corner as you have no idea what you have no experience in. I deal with it everyday but...
You say NY tyrants but your whole comment was aimed at the FFL complying with the law. Are you going to have your lawyer send a letter to the NY tyrants notifying them of an incoming lawsuit, I bet not. That's the problem, we as gun owners bitch to ourselves and ffl's but don't take 2 minutes to...
Cool. My wife and I were in Gettysburg a few years ago and since nothing opened till a little later, we walked down to Sheriff's office In and out in about 20 minutes and she had her permit. Like I said, that was a few years ago so things may be different now.
I use Warren County and my first permit was a piece of paper all done online and mailed. Now, I renew online and they let me know when it's ready to pick up. One year to pick it up. Picture on plastic card taken when I go to pick it up. All said and done in about 15 minutes.
Yes, that is true, but you have to pick it up in person since they started putting photos on their permits. I've had mine when all it was, was a piece of paper but since they went plastic you have to pick it up in person.
The problem is that the FFL MUST keep a record of all ammo sales with all the information that is used on the ammunition background check. That record can be looked at by the State police anytime they feel like checking on the FFL simply because they can check for compliance on every aspect of...
They are not denying they are delaying and 99.9999% come back proceed within a day or two. It's just a flawed f'd up system. I personally think that is on purpose and by design.
It happens because they rolled out this system knowing full well it was full of flaws. Walmart, Runnings or the local FFL all go through the same system. Don't be confused because that is exactly what they wanted and is happening.
