New manufacture .45 ACP seems to be ranging between. 37 and .45 a round online depending on the quantity ordered and specific brand.
It's interesting to find +P FMJ of any type frankly, especially at a low price like that.
Slapping steel at the range again. Still shooting tge Atlanta Arms ammo but its starting to run low.
I'm wanting to try some +P ammo. One of my favorite retailers is offering a really good price on Speer Lawman 200gr +P FMJ- $379 for a 1k case. Which is pretty good for .45 ACP. I bet those...
What are the dimensions of that thing? In relative terms. I get the impression it's like a thin Glock 19 aka G48? Is this accurate? I've heard nothing but good things, I'd like to check one out though I'm set for carry guns ATM.
Simply seek to penetrate 12-18 inches through 4 layers of denim with reliable expansion of roughly twice the initial diameter. Whatever numbers and bullets get me to that is fine. A good .38 + P load can JUST about do that. A .357 can do it easily and explosively.
I did purchase a moderate...
To be honest I don't quite get people having trouble shooting. 38s out of these things. Hard to hit with, okay sure I get that but recoil wise?
I can't even tell the difference between +p and standard .38s in my gun and I'll go through 200 or even 500 rounds in a session and it's no big deal at...
Ah once the mainstay for CCW for decades the J Frame just refuses to die.
I myself am still rather fond of my little 340PD
Yes, an 11.8 oz .357. I like to describe it as entertainingly ridiculous. I carry .38 +p in it anyway. .357s are amusing though......for maybe 2 cylinders worth.
For...
I benchmarked SG Ammo which typically has good prices tgat even if they aren't the cheapest they are close and their shipping is always cheap and very fast.
Anyway for 9mm standard FMJ I saw prices around the very low to mid .20s
For .45 on similar types I saw low .30s to mid 40s. I do...
You can get .45 online for the mid to upper 30 cent range, 9mm typically runs in the very low 30 cent range
That Atlanta Arms ammo, which is very good stuff, ran about .45 cents...........for the .45 ACP. Imagine that!
That makes me wonder if it's cheaper to shoot factory .45 ACP now, what with it being just a couple cents per round more than 9mm. Might see a revival of the Fudd Cannon caliber should this keep up.
I've been shooting all my adult life, so 25 years now and I've never been into reloading. I just do not have the spare time for it and frankly stuff like that what requires fiddling with, attention to fine detail and so forth I derive no pleasure from. I just want to grab a case of ammo and...
I am not a reloaded, I haven't tge time for it. What ever powder the manufacturers use is what I shoot. Carbon deposition on the slide wipes off with a dry rag anyway.
I actually like the appearance of a gun thusly dirtied. Says "why yes I do ACTUALLY shoot my guns."
Yes but no. Its a totally factory 10/22 Target Lite, the stock with all extras was around $300 and the scope was also around $300 so total cost is around $900 which isn't too bad.
I have always said we need to bring back the concept of "Outlaw" in the historical sense. Back in the day particularly troublesome people were declared outlawd meaning that the protection of law no longer extended to such people. Such people could be robbed, raped or killed with impunity as...
The Atlanta Arms seems like legitimately good stuff. The "select" line is thier bulk budget stuff but has done well for me.
The .45 especially, if I'm blowing the center bull out at 15yds how much more accuracy can you use?
Given the recent incidents lately I'd say absolutely yes. And given that one incident "the Boomer with the Big Iron on his hip, the guy that was an firearms instructor and dommed that shotgun welding lunatic with a P229 in 357 Sig.
I'd say armed parishioners are quite effective as well.
This exercise was entirely about making the smallest groups for the best price possible. I have my defensive and training ammo locked down but I like to shoot guns just for fun too y'know.
I have taken to referring to incompetent immigrant drivers as "deadeyes"
I see a trucker struggling to back into a spot or looking lost at a shipper/receiver and I go out to render assistance only to be met with a wide eyed, pupil dilated, deer-in-the-headlights stare of utter incomprehension...
Apparently as few as 9 pills can be a lethal dose. For anyone participating in this it could prove to be the most useful thing any of them will have done in their lives. I'm hopeful it will be for as many as possible. We should organize Tylenol drives and get as many pills out to the...
Of all the things going on in the world people are wasting brain power on this?!
Is this the adult version of dangling keys in front of an infant to distract and soothe?
A revolver don't look right unless it has a full underlug IMO.
That's why I like the Stealth Hunter so much, that big, huge, beefy shroud makes the thing look like RoboCop's alternate weapon.
Also why I continually put up with my L-Comp's repeated failings, its just such a freakin' COOL looking...
That model seems like it would take most of the kick out of the .44 Mag. Not that I'm recoil sensitive but when I am spending that kind of money pet round I want nothing but heavenly bliss every trigger pull.
I am a very nitpicky man and the color contrast between the talon grip tape and the rosewood grips bothered me so I got these black VZ grips. Undecided yet which I prefer in looks. In terms of grips and feel the VZs are outstanding and the dished out area makes hitting tge safety easier.
Well in an S&W .44 the Stealth Hunter is what I would get. Not sure what the dash range for those are, or even when production of those began. 90s I think?
Aside from looking very cool the Stealth Hunter seems like it would tame the tecoil of the .44 Magnum down to an enjoyable level.
This is what their .45 ACP can do. This is excellent ammo, very accurate. I highly recommend it for anyone that wants a little better than basic blaster ammo.
This thing is just an amazing shooting piece. And the Atlanta Arms product is very good as well, I can't expect any better than that. Also I now have 1200 rounds through it and the pistol itself has been very reliable. Occasionally I will fail to ensure tge top round in a mag is not seated...
Striker fired guns, such as those you lost here, most certainly do have locking lugs.
The barrel hood/chamber itself is the locking lug which locks into the ejection port of the slide. I'd also argue the the fixed camming underlug what interfaces with the cam block in the frame has more...
Yeah, I was looking at the Wilson combat stuff, not terribly expensive. I'll look into the spring too, I'll have to learn more about it first. Also I'll be replacing the factory polymer mainspring housing with a blued steel one too.
