Highly accurate, beautifully maintained Swedish Mauser Model 1896 (m/96) long rifle.
Manufactured in 1900 by Carl Gustafs. This rifle is chambered in 6.5x55mm caliber.
This is a phenomenal "shooter-collector" piece that features an exceptional barrel and matching action components.
The original brass stock disk confirms this rifle has a Grade 0 bore (meaning a mirror-bright, pristine barrel with zero corrosion or pitting) and a incredibly tight 6.51 mm bore diameter measurement. It is an exceptionally accurate shooter.
Receiver (Serial #76823) and all bolt assembly components match perfectly. The inspector initials "O.G." on the receiver indicate it was approved by inspector Olof Gibson.
The magazine floorplate and the cleaning rod are mismatched serial numbers. The metal finish retains great original military blueing with expected light handling wear on the wood furniture, free of any cracks or structural damage.
This rifle is a prime example of Swedish military craftsmanship. Perfect for military surplus collectors or vintage rifle competitive shooters.
