A governor on their own can not change laws and likely the assembly and state senate will still be held by democrats so you should know what that means. Still don't understand how local governments are allowed to infringe on rights. States can't just decide to ignore Constitutional rights or obstruct them. Governor Wallace tried that in 1963 and the response from President Kennedy was to send armed National Guardsmen to Alabama to arrest the Governor if he didn't allow segregation. This was a Democratic Governor and a Democratic President. The President did the right thing. The Supreme Court ruled and the President backed it up.

Now, you have governors, mayors, etc not only infringing on rights, creating schemes to make it hard to access those rights, and thumbing their nose at the ruling of the Supreme Court. Yet still nothing is done about it. If the police or the military actually arrested those that obstructed in this way, politicians wouldn't be so inclined to take away those rights. But I understand your point and thank you for responding to the post. I know there are a lot of lawsuits now and the Gun Controllers are losing but it should't take lawsuits. The Supreme Court ruled and politicians are breaking the law yet no arrests.

I'm a registered Democrat. However, I've never voted along party lines. I voted for the individual I thought would do the best job no matter what party they were from. But now, with how radical the government is in NY, I'm voting all Republican. To me this is far beyond the second amendment. If we allow politicians to choose which rights we can have or not have, then it creates a precedent for any right to be buried in fees and threats of punishment. Next I'll be told to pay a fee to my local police to have the freedom to say what I want to say, or a fee to prevent illegal search and seizure of my home. Enough is enough. I mean, what stops any local government from creating fees for every civil right we have?

We were looking to leave NYC and buying a house further north. What county are you in?

Let me break it down for you hochul wants us to have no guns and so does Biden and Garland so who will enforce this? The PBA in NYS supports hochul because she promised them a 2% raise. The supreme county enforces nothing and has no enforcement powers and the only enforcement from the national guard or military at this point would be to take our guns since Biden mostly controls them.
The democrats of today aren’t like democrats of five years ago and they are going full on leftist morons at this point so good for you. I may vote for the democrat controller, but I haven’t made up my mind yet.

I found it strangely encouraging that at both my polling location and subsequent diner breakfast, about half of the men were wearing Veteran headgear. WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War, Desert Storm, USMC, USMA, USN. Also saw an Apple seed shirt and Daughters of the American Revolution windbreaker.

I was part of that 25k. FURNC and FU Mitch McConnell for helping their best bud chuckie cheese.

After 2020 I swore to never again donate to a call / message / mailing / email / fund raiser or solicitation since the House or Senate leadership as well as "list" owners can touch, keep, divert, or disperse most of my donation. I was shocked to learn that with most donations made, only 10% gets to the candidate unless it is made directly through the candidate's actual website or campaign donation snail mail address.

The PBA is a scam outfit that has ZERO to do with the boys in blue. They exist to exist PERIOD! They get paid by donations to them, so how can they be promised anything on a 2% raise on state salary?

Voting for a Democrat is stupid PERIOD - end of story! I do not even vote for the judges that clean sweep the party affiliations.

Speak for YOURSELF - your absolutes absolutely STINK! There are many GREAT Republicans - Dave DiPietro in NY is one of them, all of the Freedom Caucus is Washington is great!

More negative waves from the shoot your own generals crowd! I for one am tired of it. Get out there and make a difference! I just delivered lunch to two polling places and inspected the machines and procedures. All up to snuff!

I am somewhat troubled after I cast my ballot.

In the past, after inserting my paper ballot into the machine, it would display a "ballot accepted" confirmation. I did not see that this time, it just returned to the "ready" screen. I mentioned it to the woman waiting to hand me my "I voted" sticker. She told me, "it was accepted, I heard it go ka-chunk." I replied that I did not see the confirmation screen. She then replied "well I heard it and I saw it said accepted." I don't know how she could have seen that when I did not - I was in front of the machine, she was more off to the side. I am hearing on WYSL of many reports of problems people are having with machines.

Anyone else experiencing strange issues should file a report on auditny.com

Before I vote I note the Public Counter number on the screen and when my vote is scanned I make sure the counter went up one vote!


From the poll watchers guide:

The Public Counter appears on the scanner screen (records how many votes are cast on the machine that day) - should be at "0" at the start of the day. If there is any number other than “0”, you should record the number and alert HQ. Make sure that the inspectors record the number. This will increase by “1” with each voter.
