Counties should tell Albany to take all their unfunded mandates and shove them up their collective ass. What are they gonna do, arrest somebody, hah!

Maybe, maybe not. IDK
FWIW - AI Overview
New York passed legislation to ban propane and other fossil fuel heaters in most new construction, starting as early as 2026, but this law is currently suspended pending litigation. The ban, aimed at new low-rise buildings, is not currently in effect due to a settlement in late 2025.
Key details:
- The Law: The All-Electric Buildings Act seeks to prohibit new building construction (under 7 stories) from using propane, natural gas, or oil for heating and cooking.
- Current Status: Due to a lawsuit led by propane associations, the state agreed to suspend enforcement of the ban until appellate litigation is concluded.
- Exemptions: If implemented, exemptions exist for restaurants, hospitals, and where electric service is not feasible.
There is so much, anti_NY posts.... Was not sure where to put this.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul is SHOCKED after fresh IRS data reveals the brutal truth — it’s NOT just billionaires fleeing New York City… it’s everyone else!
While politicians love to blame a handful of ultra-wealthy residents, the numbers tell a different story. Between 2020 and 2024, 892 companies packed up and left the state, dragging $47 billion in income with them.
Florida alone snatched 341 of those companies, with Texas and North Carolina also cashing in big time. Middle-class professionals, small business owners, and everyday working families are voting with their feet against sky-high taxes, crushing regulations, remote-work freedom, and a quality-of-life crisis that’s only getting worse.
The tax base is crumbling, and those who stay are left paying even more to fill the gap. Governor Hochul, who once told unhappy New Yorkers to “get on a bus,” is now facing the reality of an accelerating exodus that threatens jobs, services, and the entire state economy.

NY should find a way to increase revenue. I wonder if they have considered raising taxes?

Once the corruption hits a critical mass it starts to reinforce itself in a positive feedback loop.
Crooks protect crooks and actively try to force anyone out who presents a threat to corruption.
It's an inevitable consequence of any long lasting bureaucracy.
The only solution to that is a complete demolition and rebuild.

The corruption is benefited by inefficiency and refusal to meet required standards. NYS STILL cannot show where TAX DOLLARS are going. They cannot file a report....because they can't find the data. Convenient or just an indicator of inefficiency; doesn't really matter. Why would each town/ village/ individual have to meet a requirement the larger and better funded element cannot.

It's always easier to embezzle money from a failing enterprise than a successful one.
Whenever you see something run so poorly that you can't imagine how anyone would think it was a good idea, consider that maybe none of the leaders even intended it to ever work.
The Rochester fast ferry is a classic example.

Hochul the Horrible, the accidental governor, is a fraud herself. The only reason she has become a governor is because Cuomo hitched her wagon to him in an attempt to get the WNY votes.
Then Monkey Face Party Tits went tits up and resigned due to the 11 sexual allegations that were made against him. Because of that shit, Hochul the Horrible became the accidental governor.
Hochul's a fraud.
If one takes the time to research Hochul's entire political career, as I have, one will find that she has always been lucky as if a golden horseshoe is in her ass.
Those eyebrows though, they're higher than Seven Sweaty Socialist Democrats.

Seems like this idiot is un-re-electable, but then this is a corrupt state in every sense of the word. even so, without turning the senate and assembly, a republican governor is a eunuch in the harem.

And yet, she will win. Because “We” don’t put up a viable and sellable alternative to the voters. NYC is a great example.
