Shoot the motor or battery and it's done.

There was no immediate danger to anyone. It's not like that guy could lunge at anyone. Pretty sure the Tueller drill in an electric wheelchair is a lot different.

He only had a knife, not a ranged weapon, and there was no way he could get to anyone unless he snuck up on them.

We were just by there a couple days ago. This was all over the radio out here. The chief of police said straight up that this was a violation of policy and a completely unreasonable response.

They are pretty generous about use of force out here, but I'm pretty sure that officer is in a world of shit right now.

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — A Tucson police officer has been fired after he was accused of shooting a shoplifting suspect in a wheelchair nine times, killing him, after the man brandished a knife, authorities said Tuesday.
Police announced at a news conference that Officer Ryan Remington was being terminated for excessive use of force.
Authorities said Richard Lee Richards, 61, died at the scene, and the shooting was recorded on Remington’s body camera.
Tucson Police Chief Chris Magnus said he was “deeply disturbed and troubled” by Remington’s actions and the case is under review by the Pima County Attorney’s Office.
“His use of deadly force in this incident is a clear violation of department policy and directly contradicts multiple aspects of our use of force and training,” Magnus said.

I’m sure his defense will be that the perp was armed and heading toward the customers in the store like that woman he was rolling up on. He might also state that he could not speculate the severity of the person’s disability or if a disability existed at all. Just saying.. Regardless, not a good shoot.
