Outstanding. Another ridiculous law. The fact that your automatically a felon because you bought it legally really seems to be the right thing to do. ::BS::

I bet that’ll really reduce crime rates or serve the public well in any statistically significant way.

Where does this end? The Progressive Democrats keep taking more and more and more...
The Democrat controlled state governments completely ignore the US Constitution / Bill of Rights and the previous SCOTUS decisions regarding the 2A.
I know what their end game is, it's obvious by now... What I don't know is, what is our end game?
The SCOTUS takes on planned parenthood cases, A baking a cake for queers case, A giving a marriage license to queers case,
They take on a case about what restroom someone that has a penis or a front hole can use. But the SCOTUS hasn't touched a desperately needed 2A case in over 10 years.
It looks like at this point and time we are the only protectors of our constitution.
And we are not doing a good job, but what are we supposed to do? What would our forefathers recommend?
What if we told our forefathers that we have to much to lose to stand up for our rights.
We have our families and careers to think about. We just have to much to lose.
Our forefathers would probably respond by saying,,, so fucking what... SO DIDN'T WE.

Peaceful resistance through proper and appropriate channels of communication to our representatives in office.
It also means I bend everyone’s ear during Thanksgiving and Christmas about why the 2nd helps us to give the rest of our Rights. Also, I am helping neighbors set up their accounts for the Senate and House to give feedback. They never new there was an online tool.

Sadly, I don't think that will be enough.
Not from my point of view anyways.
We pushed hard against Cuomo's NY UNSAFE Act and now we are on the verge of getting NY UNSAFE 2.
Yeah, a lot of good all of those peaceful rallies and a letter righting campaign did.
THEY DON"T GIVE A FUCK WHAT WE SAY... THEY DON'T HAVE, OR, NEED OUR VOTES.
We have no meaningful representation.

You have to do something. Anything more than peaceful protesting and we will have given them a real reason to demonize us. Not just some media scripted snippet.
Letting your representatives know you do not support a bill and bringing the threat of never voting for them again is small, but significant.
The Republican Party has swung seats in the past primarily because people didn’t vote. The Democrats rely on this to retain power knowing a good majority do not vote in state elections.
Now, if I show up to the polls with 10 friends and 5 family members. I can make a small but noticeable difference. Now if each person on this forum just brought two friends, that’s a sweeping victory in most state elections.
Now, before you say the Republican Party is just as guilty, I know. They, however, align more with my fiscally conservative libertarian views.

exactly right. The American gun owner is becoming an extinct breed. I predict, by 2028 (10 years) there will be so many restriction on gun owners it will make owning guns impossible. The 2A will still be on the books, it will be like your appendix, it will be there, but useless

Only if you let it. We are not terribly outnumbered. One major hurdle is, as Americans, we’ve had laziness bred into us over the years. If every CCW’er in NY voted that’s 16,000+ votes. That’s enough to hurt either party’s bottom line during an election cycle.

It ends when you can own a double-barrel trap gun, which is permitted. You can own a bolt gun for hunting, also permitted. As for pistols, unless you're on the olympic team sorry.
That's basically where it ends.

Here is when it gets worse, when YOU CAN NO LONGER EVEN VOICE YOUR OPPOSITION. We'll be whispering while looking back over our shoulder
People are NOW losing their jobs over the bullshit pc lunacy by calling a man a man when they want to be called women...and you want to talk about gun rights?. Progressives=communists=socialists.

I don’t really know about that. I mean, you limit 2A enough you lose a bunch of sales tax, permit/licensing, state income tax, etc.

After FUAC signed the NY UNSAFE Act into law we did just that in 2013 - 2014 and into 2015.
It didn't make one bit of difference. The only things that happened are,
Our representatives got a shit ton of communications.
A squabble between two pro 2a organizations over who pays the parking fee for the busses.
A cheerleading lawyer who kept going on and on about how we will repeal the UNSAFE Act, and had some members here involved in a class action law suit IIRC and then completely disappeared into thin air never to be heard from again... I see that he does post on arfcom though.
A AR-15 cardboard cut out was confiscated by the NYSP...
Some grass got ruined...
And now we are looking at additional unconstitutional gun (people) control laws coming out of Albany on top of the original NY UNSAFE Act.
By the way, Cuomo's NY UNSAFE Act was shoved down our throats in the middle of the night (with no public input)
Now in 2018, We are looking at the probability of additional gun (people) control laws coming out of Albany.
1.) Safe Storage
2.) Red Flag Law
3.) Social Media and Internet search History
4.) Liability Insurance on guns.
We already did it your way... I'm not trying to be a dick about this, but your way doesn't work.
It might, if the Democrats needed our votes to win but they don't. The NYC Democrat voters has this state in checkmate.
No matter what peaceful efforts that we put forth didn't make any difference, they just laughed at us.
And now the Governor of NYC Andrew Cuomo is drooling for the new gun (people) control bills to be placed on his desk
so that he can sign them into law with great fanfare and announce to the world that NYS is the progressive capital.
I just got a deja vu... It's like I have been there and done that... LOL
We are so screwed at this point. The NYC politicians will do what ever they want, and they are.
The US Constitution / Bill of Rights be damned... The NYC Democrats are running with their tyranny full steam ahead.
A star should come off of the American Flag... Either that, or NYC and NYS separates and NYC becomes it's own district.
P.S. yeah more gun owners need to vote and the fudds need to get on our side.
But I'm not sure if that would even make a difference though, It sure wouldn't hurt that's for sure.

What do you propose? Take up our arms and march on city hall?

The idea of separating isn’t a terrible idea. I think it’s probably as likely as repealing the SAFE act, but a peaceful resolution.

We could all communicate with our representatives and voice our displeasure.
We will still end up with UNSAFE Act 3 --- Banning semi autos.
SCOTUS really needs to forget about the Social Justice Warrior crap, step up to the fucking plate and do their god damn job.
I'm going off on a whole different subject (NY) While this thread is about (NJ)

Peaceful resistance is useless when they do not need your vote.
Armed resistance is useless unless you are willing to kill cops and live life on the run and even then, it would accomplish nothing. You'll be put down as a domestic terrorist by the state and the federal government.
There is nothing you can do since you already gave them too much power. All you can do is take it. You are a grey haired minority and need to realize that. The rest of the populace doesn't give a rat's ass.
Sad but true. It's over.

The NJSP are “not ruling out door to door confiscations.” Yeah, let me know how that went for you after the first few violent confrontations.

LOL, this argument has been around since 1968. and ever since '68 our rights have been eaten away. This compromise will continue until we have no rights.
Today, we are living through history. the end of liberty. like i said, gun rights will be so restricted by 2028 it won't be worth having a gun

Like we discussed on the previous gun forum when the UNSAFE Act was signed into law.
We should of been "armed in mass" starting at the very first rally in Albany...
We weren't and look where it has gotten us.
Whoops I did it again (not on subject) I'll go find another thread to screw up now.

You obviously haven't been around long enough to feel the sting from what we had and what has already been taken from us, and not just the second amendment. We are way past the tipping point, as we shall see come the new year.

Time and time again the law abiding citizen gets screwed. Still no one has a plan to take away the magazines and guns from the criminals.
