Some corny bastards are so detached from reality that they buy their own bullshit. It sure as hell happened a lot with martial arts before MMA came along and showed that no, the ancient art of Dragon Dick Kung Fu doesn't let a 90 lbs, 60 year old man immobilize any attacker with one touch.
So years back, I managed a pool hall. We had a regular who would come in most days. The dude looked like an extra from a Vegas show – loud silk clothes, jewelry, the works. He would take a table by himself and slam pool balls around for hours. He didn't play any game, didn't play with anyone, he literally would just hit balls around the table as hard as he could while drinking Budweiser. All good, he made his own fun and didn't bother anyone.
One day, he walks in with a bunch of 20-something year olds. We come to find out later that he's giving lessons and charging a steep sum for them. Between the bewildered looks the "students" were getting from the staff and getting tipped off by one of the local hustlers, they got the hint on the second lesson and never came back. We later found a promo video this guy had made. It was basically him slamming balls around the table, but poorly edited to make it look like he was making insane shots. Of course, he never took any actual shots during the "lessons".
