Sadly,

No one wants to be the first person to be vilified, condemned, slandered and have their reputation and family destroyed.

Most are just trying to live their lives in peace and happiness as they choose to do while ignoring what the iligetimate emperor decrees us to do.

Isnt this the part where we are supposed to "change" our illegitimate government like the constitution directs?
Oh well, not gonna happen.....carry on.

*they* had the right idea on Jan 6th, the problem was, they stopped. Imagine what 50,000 pissed off, motivated, patriots could do if they truly wanted to remove this government. it could be done.

This isn't explosive or huge news. Having a chip in there means nothing if it's not active (or more accurately, was not active for the duration of time the voting machine was in service). My PC has an ethernet controller, however it's not hooked to the Internet unless the wire is hooked in. Just having an ethernet chip doesn't make it an Internet connected device. Similarly, if this device wasn't active and provisioned, that equipment has the capacity to be Internet connected, without actually being Internet connected.

Now, if they can show there was an *ACTIVE* connection during service time, after they claimed it wasn't, then that's something else entirely.

Apples to oranges. Your computer has an ethernet controller, and port, which requires a wire to connect. The chip on that board is a wireless LTE modem, so.... no wire needed.
These LTE low category variants are members of Telit’s flagship xE910 module family delivering 4G radio access technology in the 28.2 x 28.2 x 2.2 mm family form factor.

Was it active? I don't know. It would be interesting to see what the activity logs say on those machines, but those can be modified too, so that would still leave it up in the air.
I do wonder about the wisdom of having a wireless modem in a machine that's supposed to be secure, and isolated from tampering.

Its not apples to oranges. The ethernet example was an illustration that a device can have the technical ability to connect to the Internet without actually being connected to the internet, not an implication the cellular data and terrestrial data are the same mode of connection.

If the sim card isn't active and provisioned, it's functionally the same thing as the ethernet cable being unplugged in that you have no internet connection. If you go buy a cell phone and don't connect it to a service carrier you don't get a data connection. That cellphone still has a "wireless modem" in it, but it doesn't mean it actually has an active connection.

The existence of hardware in a device doesn't mean it's actually in use. In fact it's pretty common in the electronics industry to make one hardware profile and load different firmware, etc. to enable different features. It's actually cheaper for the manufacturer to do this than reconfigure the production machinery to produce a product with different parts present or absent. In many cases the reconfiguration downtime actually costs more than putting unused parts on circuit boards.

Of course the dam things were on the Net. How else did we get real time instant results across all media in record time?

No shit. You totally missed the point. The machines shouldn't have the ability to connect. Period. Even if "it costs more" to produce the machine.

Do you know that for a 100% indisputable fact? Seems like a baseless out-the-ass declaration.

Why not? The maker can produce one model and sell it to different groups/organizations with different needs and configure it based on that clients requirements. That's good for the business, cheaper mass production = better bids / more profit. A business built these machines, not the govt. Welcome to capitalism.

Ultimately, it's actually the govt. at fault for not requiring voting machines to lack the actual hardware and not just active functionality. If that's what they wanted they should have specced that in the bid/PO.

Why not? Because there would be no question about the results. There would be nothing to debate.
