Yea, why go after the mental case that committed premeditated murder (top ten most illegal crimes) likely with an illegally obtained (and given Oregon's Gun Laws likely illegally posed) when they could go after a good guy with a gun...anything to keep the narrative of only government being armed.

More information is coming out about the deadly school shooting at an elementary school in Bend, Oregon, including new details about the armed citizen who stopped the shooter.
Police say an armed community member saw the perpetrator enter the school, followed him inside and fatally shot him before police arrived.
Three children and one teacher were killed. Another child and another adult were injured.
The shooter was a 16-year-old Bend resident who reportedly forced his way into the school by shooting at the locks on the doors. Police have described the weapon as a “long gun,” while other reports have identified it as a shotgun. No additional information about the shooter has been released.
Authorities have also not released the identity of the armed citizen, whether he was a concealed carry permit holder or what firearm he used.
Silver Rail Elementary is part of the Bend-La Pine School District, one of 25 of Oregon’s 197 school districts that specifically prohibit armed staff on school grounds.
Oregon is rated an A- by Giffords for its gun laws.
Our hearts go out to the families, the Good Samaritan and the entire Bend community.

People are saying he will be charged but we know nothing of the man. He as he a teacher or a passerby that saw something. What I read is the district bans guns from their campus, but state law does not. I know the federal law.
I’ll add I doubt he will be charged because the public outcry would be massive and no jury would convict. He may lose his permit depending on the circumstances. I do not see charges coming.

Such a sad thing that there is evil in this world that would take our children in this manner. There's not enough punishment available for these people. As a father of 3, the thought of burying one of my children is my greatest fear.

Back in the day I know of many 16 year old young adults receive a shot gun for their birthday. . Many times it was a hand me down shotgun that the grand father did not use anymore. Many of us could not wait for rabbit or pheasant season

I got a .22 at 12 and two shotguns by the time I was 14/15 years old. Never once did something I wasn’t supposed to with them. The gunpowder I used for reloading was another story. I had a great idea to make fireworks, they worked pretty good and were essentially mini pipe bombs. The cops didn’t like it too much, but they were small and understanding so they just said quite it. We did. Ah the good old days.
