I have been following her blog for a number of years. She is a true scientist in that she limits claims to what can be proven. She believes adding CO2 to the atmosphere will increase temperatures but does not agree with the specific claims of an increase of x degrees by year Y. Instead she talks about probabilities and possibilities. Her big idea is the concept of uncertainty, for which she has been villified by the true believers. Essentially she thinks there is no definitive way we can conclude the most harmful projections are valid. Her cautious and measured tone does not sit well with the others in her field who believe the sky is falling and we MUST DO SOMETHING NOW OR ALL IS LOST.

I'd like to see if there was a collaborative conspiracy of data that promoted this, a scientific con. I think we should conserve the planet and be responsible for the environment and resources but not at the expense of lies and by crying wolf.

Interesting, since part of the reason that chaos theory saw rapid development in the mid-1900's was to help in weather prediction.
For myself, discounting much of the BS in the global warming circus was hearing one moron who still tried to sell the bogus theory after admitting that "they'd" forgotten to factor in volcanic activity in their models.

Im not a scientist, but I did stay at a holiday Inn last night, and I found an old map of Flordia right around the beginning of the industrial revolution ,So I compared it to see how much flooding the melting polar caps did in the last 150 years of man made global warming.Sarasota’s average elevation — and it is the highest coastal city in southern Florida — is 16 feet. Venice and North Port are at 9.8, Bradenton and Punta Gorda 5.9, Naples and Holmes Beach 2.95.
I checked and they're still there and the coast hasn't changed much either!! After this exhaustive study at the holiday Inn , my studies have concluded that ocean levels haven't risen very much, and Al Gore is full of shit .

This may be the most well reasoned and level-headed post I've ever seen on this site.
Climate change is happening. No the sky is not falling. No "these ships got stuck in the ice LOL" does not mean climate change is made up any more than "I ate today" means there is no burger in the world.
The EPITOME and the greatness of science vs. nonsense is uncertainty. Science is ALWAYS evolving and changing. It's the best explanation we have for the events at any given time.
Religious nuts often get confused here and they use science as never being "100% definitive" as a GOTCHA, as it does change, when in reality the opposite is true. When something is proven wrong in the scientific method, our understanding grows and we adapt. When something in a hardcore religious nut's view is proven wrong, they just make excuses, in spite of the truth.

I never implied that earth hasn't changed or isn't changing, only that the ocean levels haven't risen very much in the last 150 years . The contention is that the oceans are raising at an alarming rate due the melting of the polar caps .
A quick look at those maps proves there is no drastic change due to man made global warming. Its bunk .
The thing is though, we don't need a "drastic" change to kill us all.
I just don't think we are quote on the path to "we're all gonna die."

Bottom line: After several mild winters in Buffalo and WNY, I can say that I don't think we are going to be lucky this winter. The Trees are going crazy,
Heavy with nuts and fruit. Signs of a harsh winter coming. How do they know? Don't have a clue, but they are as reliable as any other weather forecast.
