Do people really wait until pre-dawn to get in the stand? If I can see the eastern sky lighten before I'm in the stand, I feel like I'm late.

The DEC website still lists these as POTENTIAL changes. Just sayin.

I walked in just before sunup to my stand and the neighbor later asked "who the he'll came in late pushed a deer right over me and spilled coffee all over myself!" He was in a ground blind mine was about 18' in the air.

I hunt the Adirondacks on our private property. there is NEVER anyone around that we don't know. we hunt in full camo.

me and my neighbors usually have a "meeting" the night before the hunt, which includes exchanging cell phone numbers, so we can text each other, and we determine whos is going to be in what tree stand, then we **accidentally** get drunk, oddly this happens every year??

On opening day Im in my tower at dark, but i usually have a hangover on the first Sunday. I can tell you I'll have a red light on my head anytime Im walking at dark now.
Sorta like speed limits, people already break it by 10 mph without fear of tickets. Im guessing the shooting will start an hour before daybreak now. Too many idiots will be shooting at shadows and any movement.

Plenty of light 30 before and after “ legal” sunrise/ sunset. Besides would you really hold off tagging a bruiser you could see just fine just because the state said so?

Personally I welcome the hunting hours change. Long overdue imo.

Mixed feelings on the fluorescent orange/pink requirement. Do I think it's a good idea to wear it? Yes. Do I wear it? Yes. Should it be a legal mandate? No.

Same with the seat belt law and the motorcycle helmet law, the 21 years old to purchase alcohol and tobacco laws as well.

We're all big boys and girls capable of making our own personal "safety" decisions.

I like them too. I also like that DMP zone 9A and 9F are permanent antlerless deer areas. I was just deciding between do I want to select 9A or 9H for my choice number two and now I don’t have to.

Sunrise and sunset are pretty late and early respective to enough light to being able to shoot safely.
