I am curious to see what the Trumpites make of this apparent reversal in course.

Well, I disagree with the mask's being useful as all, but there is a far cry from Trump's

"please wear one, they might provide some benefit and we'll take whatever advantage we can get"

And the leftists

"you will wear a mask or we will ruin your life, and if you don't wear one your killing grandma"

Why does everyone ignore the fact that COVID 19 is not that deadly of a virus.

In the county that I live in. There are 2 people in the hospital due to COVID 19.
Out of a population of 57,000 people. The math doesn't add up.

And then there is also my signature.

The lethality of a virus is not measured by how many people get infected in a particular area but what frame presents.when a cluster starts, how fast spreads and what are the death and recovery rates. It doesnt look that full recovery is easy for many based on the lessions in lungs in the X rays.
Based on how it has inpacted certain regions and groups it is a very nasty virus, and unlike the flu there is no vaccine so far.so heard inmunity will have a much greater impact.
The good news with esrly detection and intervention there are retroviral drugs that are now comfirmed to be quite effective.

See, my employer requires me to wear a mask at work, so I do. I don't see it as the totally blown out of proportion "muh rights" issue that have so many panties in a wad.

Forcing people to wear items they do not wish to under threat of force is immoral.

Doing so to prevent the boogeyman from getting you is what is done by the pioneers of immorality and unfounded beliefs, the religious folks, so I do see it as a big rights issue.

First it's "just a damn mask", then the state will be telling you what you must order at a restaurant, you know, "to be safe."

I find it similar to the Islamic women who have to cover their faces in public or have the shit beat out of them or be killed. It’s just a head cover. What’s the big deal?

When Im forced to wear a mask to do business, Im not free anymore.

See freedom:

freedom
Pronunciation /ˈfrēdəm/ /ˈfridəm/
Translate freedom into Spanish
NOUN

  • 1The power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.

    Synonyms
    1. 1.1Absence of subjection to foreign domination or despotic government.

‘he was a champion of Irish freedom’

    2. 1.2The state of not being imprisoned or enslaved.

‘the shark thrashed its way to freedom’
      More example sentences
      Synonyms
    3. 1.3The state of being physically unrestricted and able to move easily.

‘the shorts have a side split for freedom of movement’
      More example sentences
    4. 1.4freedom fromThe state of not being subject to or affected by (a particular undesirable thing)

‘government policies to achieve freedom from want’
      More example sentences
      Synonyms
    5. 1.5The power of self-determination attributed to the will; the quality of being independent of fate or necessity.
Freedom, generally, is having the ability to act or change without constraint. Something is "free" if it can change easily and is not constrained in its present state. In philosophy and religion, it is associated with having free will and being without undue or unjust constraints, or enslavement, and is an idea closely related to the concept of liberty. A person has the freedom to do things that will not, in theory or in practice, be prevented by other forces. Outside of the human realm, freedom generally does not have this political or psychological dimension. A rusty lock might be oiled so that the key has the freedom to turn, undergrowth may be hacked away to give a newly planted sapling freedom to grow, or a mathematician may study an equation having many degrees of freedom. In physics or engineering, the mathematical concept may also be applied to a body or system constrained by a set of equations, whose degrees of freedom describe the number of independent motions that are allowed to it.

I just laugh at these fools that obsess over masks and think they are some magic shield that will protect them. Last night I was out on a patio and saw a table of 4 people all sitting there with their masks on. These are people who have been brainwashed by the media and are basically enslaved to the mask. They are submissive pussies who will jump when they are told to do so by an overreaching government. Imagine being that scared. I don’t understand why you would even leave your house if you’re too afraid to remove your mask that isn’t doing anything to protect you anyway. Stay home and leave the rest of us alone!

I agree this is the time for citizens to give example to politicians and stop listening less to those and more to doctors and health personal.
We can use simple logic to come togerher and for that we need to use reason.
Here are several ways to justify wearing or not wearing a mask:
1-political. It is within our rights to do as we please so if anyone tells me not to wear it I will or if they tell met o wear it then I wont just to show them.
2-policy. Companies follow state, federal and local laws and guidelines and wether they are convinced it is less or more effective they will implement it because they do not want liabilities and law suits down the road.
3-social conscience. I agree one could argue whether this is more effective or less effective. Lets say it is much less than what anyone claims but even if it is a very small percentage in effectivness why one would not have one in proximity of others? Afterall even before covid doctors wear them, dentist wear them, surgeons wear them. Or how would one feel going into surgery with a doctor w/o gloves or mask.
Chances are with a good scrub and powerful antibiotics the risk of infection still woulld be low but the fact is there is less risk using profilactic components. This is a fact.

I know how many of you feel. I am also tired of certain things and why I am very skeptical of what anyone says. We all, the left and the right and the middle are being played by a political and elite class who are out of control and show little respect for others views and opinions.
Maybe it is their fault or maybe they are in fact a sad reflection of what we have become as a aociety.

This will go on as long as the people allow it to go on...
By Thanksgiving day, dinner with the family will be against the law, and we will be required to also wear a mask on the back of our heads too. And the sheep will just roll with it and make it worse for everybody else who can see this for what it is. It may have started off about the virus, but this shit going on now has nothing to do with the virus.
The curve was flattened a long time ago... That was the goal, that was the objective, remember?

I see people with dirty masks... Putting their hands by their face constantly adjusting their stupid masks...
Masks that are worn below the nose... Masks that are worn below the double chin... Masks hanging from an ear...
People pulling down their masks to talk... Masks that look like they are more of a fashion statement than effective at what the mask is supposed to be doing...
The way people cross contaminate their masks is laughable... This whole mask placebo is a joke.
They may as well not wear a mask. it's probably safer that way... Facepalm.

Gun owners, in particular, should be well aware of "It's for public safety" or "The slippery slope"

People, in general, should be well aware of what the term "moving goalposts" means.
It started as "flatten the curve" ... Now "it's stop the infection" ... Whats next? "Forced vaccinations?"

1.) Public Safety -------- Don't fall for that old and often used tactic.
2.) Slippery Slope ------ I can see it, can you?
3.) Moving Goalposts - Why are the objectives always changing? It's always something else. Always another sacrifice.
4.) Health issue -------- Being completely politicized... Orangeman Bad
5.) Lies ----------------- I do not listen to people who are proven liers... FUAC for an example.

The people who refuse to wear a mask... I think are on solid ground with their decision.
