Five million new gun owners

Five Million Americans Became First-Time Gun Owners in 2020 | National Review

It will be interesting to see the long-term political implications of this surge.

This is good news. Hopefully most of them vote for pro 2A candidates in the fall.

[dsdmmat]

23 million guns have been sold since the first of the year. I bet there are a lot more than 5 million new gun owners.

A lot of them bought them to fight off the mystical white supremacists. They'll continue to vote democrat.

The true "one issue voters" were already stocked and locked and are laughing at the people paying $0.80 / round for 9mm.

I don't see it. The new snowflake gun owners will still believe that the DEMON-rats are not coming for the guns!!
They will still claim we are being paranoid, even as they are turning in their guns!!

They'll continue to vote democrat.

YESSIR!!

I'll stick with the one third rule of people in bloc. In this case, that would be one third are awakened to just what the II Amendment means, one third are waiting for someone to tell them how to feel, and one third are unchanged. The middle group can be broken dow to thirds again.

I have anecdotal evidence that at least some of the new gun owners will still vote democrat.
Once again, my 25 year old niece who is a gun owner, pp holder and hunter is now a diehard liberal...purple hair and all.
Over the last couple years she has got many of her young friends to buy guns for hunting and home defense.
They are really into the farm life and eating wild game.
However, they All hate Trump and would vote for anyone but Trump.
She lives in the country on a farm in a very pro Trump area but here is here yard sign.....and her new hairdo.

[BDinPutnam]

I dont get the Kool Aid hair thing.

Is it some kind of protest like "I'm going to make it actually impossible for you to objectify me"?

It would be mentally deficient to vote any other way. But with that said, it's entirely possible to think they'll only come for the other guys guns, lol.

But what it exposed is the high content if hypocrites within their ranks!

The cognitive dissonance required to hold these two polar opposite opinions must be off the charts. I actually feel sorry for her.

The issue is a large percentage of these people got handguns (if you weren't in NY) and shotguns or whatever was left and don't seem to be bothered by an "assault weapons" ban until I start to explain evil features that make the same gun an "assault weapon" or not, like we have in NY or NJ and it's not just ARs or AKs that will be banned. By the time they realize it, it will be too late.

I don’t much care about the colored hair thing. Hell, my son in his late teens had an orange tinted mohawk and was a young conservative even back then. Much as he is now. However , the juxtaposition of gun ownership for hunting, self defense and seemingly living an off the grid Lifestyle, coupled with liberalism is hard to comprehend.

To add to this , I will say that I have noticed over the years that young people are becoming increasingly gullible, and given the nature of the social media platforms that they visit regularly I’m not entirely shocked .

I like the purple, blue, green red and whatever color they chose...

It is like being on a battlefield fighting against an enemy in uniform.

It is easier to fight the enemy when they look and dress alike.

[repete]

I think it's got something to do with the purple dye, it must eat the brain cells or at least the "smart" cells.

The funny thing is, she has...had.....beautiful hair.
Women and men alike tell her all the time how jealous they are.

[Deplorable Me]

In the last NY gubbiners election, by sheer numbers, gun owners should have ruled the election and tossed Andy to the curb. The reality is, there was a major no-show at the polls (again). Might as well wish in one hand and piss in the other in NY. It's like watching the hole in the other end of the lifeboat fill up that end first.

Last year when talking about stuff my niece actually said these words.
"Stop it, Cuomo isnt coming for your guns....duh".

It’s a deep seeded yearning to make yourself look like a circus clown. The look is completed with shaving only half your head, the gauged out ears, lip, nose, eyebrow, and tongue piercings, although I can look past the tongue piercings for “reasons”.

They are victims of an education system that is increasingly designed to teach them *not* to think, but to just repeat what they've been told.

Thats the thing that gets me.
She is 25 years old and has already become an RN, had 4 kids, owns a 100 acre farm that is absolutely gorgeous.
She is a great person and your grandson could do alot worse.
Shes hard working, outgoing and very caring.
She just got the Trump derangement in her head a couple years ago.
The other kicker is that her boyfriend and father of her kids is a Trump supporter and he has a Trump sign in the yard too.
They just dont talk about politics in the house......she does it all on Facebook.
Just today she put up a post about how horrible the bail reform deal is in NYS. She cant believe they are letting crims out on their own recognizance.
A friend of hers told her to "stop voting Blue."
She said she votes for who she agrees with, not with any paticular party.
I told her thats like playing Craps and putting a buck on black and a buck on red.
Anyways, she is not a bad person and not a screaming leftist. Shes just compassionate towards others and is believing Trump is the devil.

I encourage all law abiding citizens to arm themselves regardless of race /color/creed.

Have you ever asked her exactly WHY she can't stand him? I sudpect there's one thing she was led to believe that caused this.

Ohhhh, lots of reasons, mostly emotional.
Hes anti Abortion, hes anti gay marriage, hes brash, he lies, hes bad on the environment.......you know, the usual stuff that many millennials believe.
Shes not dumb, just ignorant.
Ohhhh and hes a sexual predator she says, thats the big one, he treats women bad.
However, she has completely took over and neutered her boyfriend. He is not the same guy he was a few years ago. She rules his life.
Im super surprised he is allowed to support Trump. He does what hes told, when hes told. He has no backbone.
