If you can’t see the difference between a cell phone, Ring or CCTV cameras compared to Flock, Condor and Axon…I’m not sure how to help you.

A good article: so everyone else can just go "flock" themselves :

Flock Cameras: The Truth About What They Actually Do

What Flock cameras really do: read every license plate, build a searchable vehicle fingerprint, run Condor video that can zoom in on people, and link your car to your name. Myth vs. documented fact.

A lot of Flocking focus in the news. Some getting stolen, towns and cities tearing them out and cancelling. A lot of misuse by employees.

True. Flock monitors and collects license plate data 24/7 of everyone. It catalogs it whether you’re legal or committing a crime and monitors movement in the same way. More than just a camera.

I googled - police department's misuse of Flock cameras. There's page after page (I stopped scrolling on page 10) of websites with reports of cops getting caught using the information for personal use. Including tracking romantic partners, relatives, or acquaintances.

Here's just one of many, many examples.

Police accused of misusing Flock cameras across 12 states

Police officers in at least 12 states have faced allegations of misusing Flock Safety license plate reader systems, fueling privacy concerns and renewed scrutiny from lawmakers.

That will confuse generic ALPR cameras but opens you up to an obstructed plate violation. Flock doesn't need the plate, it can tell color make and model as well as unique things about your vehicle like dents, roofracks, stickers, etc and catalogs that as well.

The only way to stop this is to make unobstruction/replacement/repair of cameras such a burden the municipality does not want to deal with it but that has legal ramifications as well.

Honestly, if someone wanted to end this fast, the best way would be to hack them, and use them to track some rich and powerful people doing illegal or embarrassing things, then make that public.

Suddenly they'll get a lot less popular among the government types.

We don't even need to hack them. Just need to recruit someone with access. I got $5 on it.

tracking romantic partners

Makes you wonder if those "romantic partners" know there is a romance going on.

I wonder how many women who were raped recently were first followed on Flock.

Married former Monroe County FL deputy, Lamar Roman, worked security on a TV series (Bad Monkey) that was filmed in the Florida Keys.

He took a fancy to one of the women in the show and used Flock/ALPR cameras & their AI database to locate her address and her vehicle as she was going down the road. If you go to the county's website (separate video) you can see the dash cam footage of him passing two vehicles in a double yellow at 70+ MPH to speed up and pull her over. One of the vehicles had to swerve off the road (seriously...) to avoid his cop car when he was speeding up to pull her over.

He then pulled her over with no legal pretext. Bodycam footage then shows him saying "I told you I'd find you" and laughing during the illegal stop.

He THEN added her vehicle to a "hot list" in the database that would alert him every time her car passed a privately owned surveillance camera in his county.

After being arrested his criminal case was moved to a "diversionary" program where his charges will be dropped when/if he a completes court mandated program.

He will never spend a day in prison for criminally stalking her nor for the BLATANT violation of her 4th & 14th Amendment rights.

I hope she sues the county and bankrupts them for ever deciding to infringe on the county citizens rights like this. This was a conscious decision made by county leadership that was 100% predictable at the time.

Wait, so you're saying that government employees having unfettered access to tracking and searching is ripe for abuse?

No way! I don't believe it! It's almost like those founding father blokes knew something about rights and how a goverment not scared of the people would act when they authored the bill of rights!

Now, be a good colonist and deposit your musket over there by order of the king!
