This state is moronic and won’t even care about us. What about affordability? This will add money to everything. This will also not save use on trash because the paper will likely be waxed and thicker. I can’t put all my recycling in my recycle bin now and half goes in my trash can as it is. My town only recycles on a biweekly basis for pick up.
All this will do is cost money.

Do you know if you go grocery shopping in PA they still use plastic bags? Just saying. I wonder how much tax revenue this state can afford to lose by these asinine laws?

New Hampshire as well

My bride will go shopping over there,
Self check out line just to swipe an extra 40 or 50 bags for whatever use she needs.

Fukkin state.............they forget........not all products made in n.y. that use plastics stay here
So their figure of 5 lbs per day is instant bullshit.

Some weeks I grab trash from the shop just to make a garbage bag heavy and full enough to put out for pick up.
That's with 2 in the house.
We burn all paper type products and use the ash on the lawn

What if I order this stuff on line from Amazon? Will these companies make NYS specific packaging or what? Seems to me we should be burning our trash to make electric instead of burying it but what do I know. Electric is expensive and not enough homes so let’s take trash and bury it, makes no sense to me.

We should start mining land fills.
Plus we have a chip problem, so remove old chips and reuse them, everything isn't needed to be the newest etc.. I would still have a land line for phone if they didn't charge long distance for calling in my same county.

Was at my sons for dinner and the kids asked what we did when I was young. Told them we left the house in the morning to play and had to be back home by dinner; then after dinner went out side to play and had to be home by dark.
They couldn't think of how that would be any fun!

FIFY - been saying this for years. I even have the plan mostly drafted. I'm (proposing) calling the landfill prison camps "Tennessee Resource Accountability Centers"

Starting first thing tomorrow morning, I'm going to start buying a shit ton of Saran Wrap.
I'm going to build a ammo Saran Wrap fort. I'll stack that shit high.

I just got a Déjà vu... Actually, as a New Yorker, I just had a dozen Déjà vu moments.
I've been there and done that so many times befo oh, never mind, you know, the thing.

Eventually, the New York government will ban everything except for taxes and illegals.
Useless solar panels too. New York is the village idiot of the United States of America.

"With New Yorkers producing almost five pounds of trash per person per day,"

IDK, that doesn't seem right, almost 5 pounds of trash per day? That would mean a household of 4 would generate around 140 pounds of trash per week.

I know I normally don't generate 5 pounds of trash per day... YMMV
I doubt the wife and I combined generate 5 pounds of trash per day.

The legislation was sponsored by state Assemblywoman Deborah Glick (D-Manhattan) and state Sen. Peter Harckham (D-Peekskill).

Both Democrats, it figures, it's always the frickin' Democrats.
