Good radio setup for a disaster

guess I'm pretty well set on radios have them all
Other day I saw a video for a portable Repeater by and for Baofeng Radios....they've really stepped up their game and for those of us with limited funds and especially limited usage, they're a good deal.
If you want the best, or at least better then the standby names at much higher prices than the Baofeng's.
I've bought better radios from these guys: Amateur Radios

Recommendations and suggestions to those of us who don't?
Tangent: Growing up in FL, back in the 70's and 80's every damn near every Pickup Truck belonging to someone who "Hunted" they'd have a cross-bed Tool Box with a long, whip type CB Antenna mounted in the center...one day I noticed the guys where I worked had a second, long Fiberglass antenna mounted beside the CB antenna and when I asked he said "we run Marine Radios most of the time between us, the reach a lot farther and we ya don't have the bullshit (from CB's) to put up with."
Seems to me that's a niche often overlooked when it comes to communications, except when you're on or around the Water...I have one in storage, but don't have a proper Boat and it's ten miles to Lake Ontario.
Thoughts on "Marine Band" Radios?
