It's such a fucking game, debating it all is useless. Tell me... What enforcement can the SCOTUS enact? What has it done to States, like Mass/CA that ignore it's rulings?

Roe vs Wade? Yeah... Nothing gonna happen there that's for sure, and nothing needs to.

Two party politics will continue for the foreseeable future, nothing gonna change there. Without term limits for elected representatives, and a disbanding of lobbyist is Washington, the SCOTUS is peanuts!!! Got no teeth and pretty much is the silent branch of Gov't... I don't see anything earth shaking, nothing life changing coming from the court at all. Sorry...

Nothing changes for the 2nd until the court applies "Strict" scrutiny to all "Rights"... Otherwise the selective application of how strict to enforce those Rights leaves it all to game play!

So, again, were the FF's wrong to put a system in place to allow growth?

Yes. Just like they were wrong to not put term limits on Congress. They weren't perfect and couldn't fathom that we the people would be stupid enough to alter it to the point that it is worthless.

But, you(we) cannot have it both ways...

We either support all of it or none of it.

Our Founders knew there would be unforeseen changes in the Country, that is one of the reasons for Article Five.

I agree with that. It is what it is. I have to follow it whether I like it or not despite the unforseen fallacies they committed when they wrote it.

The parts of the Constitution that are spelled out should be set in unbreakable concrete. That is the issue that I have.

Which ever Right we are talking about.

I am more concerned about our First Amendment than I am the 2A.

The First is stripped each and everyday and most don't even know it.

Again, if the Constitution needs to grow, dammit, just follow the intent and rules set forth. Stop the Legislation from the bench.

Constitution sets a high bar for amending itself. Much higher then a simple vote. To this day, none of the amendments of the Bill of Rights were amended or repealed.

Lot's of different views here. All very good points and a lot of questions raised. With the politics in our central government ...... remember the truth will come out in the end. We all need to remember our roots as patriots. What we stand for, and what this nation is supposed to stand for. One obvious thing is that, our rights have been slowly degrading for some time now.

Keep your powder dry.

@GOPerfect I think it is the terminology of a “living document” that is causing exception. That’s that lefts line albeit they have a different meaning then you do since the left believes it can mean whatever they want it to based off of what they feel or believe today while we and I believe you fall back on original intent. The amendment process is a tough hill to climb as you know for a good reason to prevent knee jerk asshats from destroying it all overnight. So amendable by the law as spelled out..yes. “living” is too open to interpretation.

You can live with a dog and call it marriage, but it is governments business to recognize it or not.

Why ?

What makes you think recognizing the religious institution of marriage is any of the government's business at all ? Just because they require a license to do it ?

They shouldn't be *allowed* to require a license, at all. Gay marriage problem solved. If you can find a priest to marry you and your dog, have at it. Nobody should take you seriously of course, but why should the government be allowed to prohibit it ?

The amendment process is what makes the constitution a "living document". That is the only "living" it has any business doing.

Anything else is just a subversion of the document and what it stands for.

Marriage is not a religious institution. I am not going to waste time telling you why, if you are not smart enough to figure it out. Your entire argument is based on a false premise.

Marriage is a socioeconomic institution based on a contract enforced by the government's power of law. It has nothing to do with big government as it was the same way during the founding of the Republic and many centuries before that.
I have yet to see anyone being dragged kicking and screaming to man/woman wedding ceremony, but I see a lot of people sticking their nose into my married lifestyle by trying to redefine the relationship I entered years ago. Have a relationship with a tree if that's what makes you happy, but don't amend the definition of mine.

Sorry if you took that the wrong way ..... I was only implying to the money scheme of it. I'm not against marriage at all. It's an awesome bonding between a man and a women.

That meme is definitely false. Those traitors hate the Constitution well enough, but those quotes are made up.
