I don't get the Democrats making such a big deal about the political race against Susan Collins. Who's not at all a Conservative, at the very most, she's a fake Republican. She often breaks with her party and sides with the Democrats on high-profile issues like healthcare, environmental policy, and judicial confirmations.

What I'm trying to understand is why the Democrats are making such a big deal about pushing Collins out. She's practically one of them, considering her track record and all. Or am I missing something?

I agree, but it’s about being in control. If there are 50 republicans and 50 democrats they will call it a loss. They need to be in power and the republicans wouldn’t be much different.
This is because they think they can win Maine is why this is so important to them.

Because even as the label of Centist/Rino she isn’t as “non-institutional “ as the left’s version they think they want.

And even lockstep Dems from 5 years ago are scrambling due to the latest trend.

The DSA folks are filling the void of “What has my party done for me lately”. The People as a whole are done with the lack of constructive (or any to be frank) action BENEFITING the constituents who gave their proxy to them via their vote. Label yourself “Non-establishment” and they’re at the point of not caring how loopy you are or what real dangers you have.

It’s all just smoke and mirrors my friend, to make their sheep followers believe that they are taking over.

That’s their own fault. I love it when they eat their own.
I can tell you the DSA trend will be strong for a bit. They are trying to make it seem like it’s working, but it will not work. It won’t go well. I’m seeing plenty of the DSA crowd trying to connect DSA to everyday normal things like firemen and roads. Saying that’s what socialism is. They don’t have a clue what socialism is. As soon as they figure out what socialism actually is people swing want it.

What people don’t understand is they say well it works in Denmark or Finland but no one actually looks at what they do to make that stuff work. They tax the crap out of people. If we did that here anyone with any existing bills would be screwed. Credit card debt, mortgage, car loans and they would be bankrupt. They tax people at make around $65,000 about 50% for income tax. They apply their top marginal tax rate at a significantly lower rate than the USA does. Then their sales tax is about 20% as well. So imagine the average household paying 50% of their income to taxes then 20% on top of everything they buy. Look at our credit card debt now imagine cutting their income in half and then some.
