Of late all my handguns are 19s and all three added up equal my age. Same manual of arms, easy to clean, muscle memory, interchangeable parts and magazines, same holsters (I have several kinds)... one for the range (with some enhancements); one for carry and car; and one for the bedroom electronic safe. From a defensive weapon point of view I think I've got handgun needs covered.
Glocks are not perfection but they work.
And actually, Glock 19 Gen4s work very well for me after going larger and smaller and trying most of the major styles of handguns at higher levels. Not saying I won't get another cool range toy but that's just it, it only has to be a range toy and my life doesn't need to depend on it.
