Aaryn Newland from Irondequoit was just arrested for allegedly making switches with a 3D printer. The ATF and Irondequoit Police started investigating Newland after they got a tip from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office three months ago that Newland was ordering gun parts on eBay.

Ooohhh, "ordering gun parts"......string him up!

Yeah, the dude was being dumb and printing auto-sears.......FAFO. What is concerning (but not surprising) is that some entity (CC companies, gun part sellers, etc.) are actively reporting purchases of firearm parts to NY law enforcement (or NY law enforcement is monitoring gun seller web sites, not sure how though), and NY is putting those consumers on a watch list and executing fishing expeditions. Maybe there's more to this then we're being told? (Why would ATF be tapped if dude was just buying slides or something on the interewebs?)

Perhaps there is a 1st Amendment or interstate commerce clause defense here? I don't know, just glad I got out of this rotten state and went some place where I can buy legal items on-line and not have my door kicked in.

This whole thing stinks. The Manhattan DA informed Irondequoit 3 months ago that this dude had bought $4k of parts on ebay. Coincidentally, in May he was pulled him over for a "motor vehicle infraction" and found with a printed pistol in the car. They sat on this until now and served the warrant finding the autosears. Its interesting that during the search there is no mention of other printed pews, just the autosears.

As much as we'd like to believe the Detectives and Agents are "Keystone Cops" it doesn't take a lot of talent to realize constructive intent, and when one of you homies gets clipped and squeezed for where he got his ghost gun, he'll roll to reduce charges. Parts is parts, but if you've ordered an 80% frame and the additional parts, they're going to assume you've made a Handgun which violated State Law of having an unregistered Handgun, possibly without a Licenses, which we all know to be a high crime in the Peoples Republic of NY.
Remember, New York doesn't give a fuck about things such as the Constitution, Bill of Rights, SCOTUS, only doing what the NYC Liberal/Criminal mafias want.

I do not believe NY has constructive intent laws, nor was he turned in by someone.
According to the release homeslice was not buying 80% receivers, he was buying completely legal parts on ebay.

My comments were a generalization not specific to this case, and whether NY has constructive intent Laws or not, it doesn't take much effort to figure out what's likely going on.
The news story I read was an interview with an ATF Agent telling everyone how a "switch" makes a dangerous gun even more dangerous, and simple possession (or making one) was the same as having a machinegun.
The folks getting busted for "ghost Guns" (home made in violation of State Laws) are getting identified and picked up somehow.

GB is monitored by the NYS Ag's Office, the NYC PD/ Intell Unit, the Manahttan DA and the FBI, ATF, DHS and NYSP to name a few.

They know exactly what I buy from GB, Ebay, etc.

THEY KNOW MORE ABOUT EACH OF US, THAN YOU MAY BELIEVE. You likely have a SP man assigned to your IP address,

I just bought a new JD riding mower, and I expect a "attaboy!! from them soon.

Do you think that’s shocking ? They have been doing monitoring of the dark web and other sites for years and not just for guns.
You don’t think Bloomberg doesn’t have people trolling the internet looking for online activity then reporting it ?
I doubt it is from commercial sites like MidwayUSA unless it was a result of a subpoena. It’s more likely an E-bay type thing

Since the Frame and Receiver rule was passed, it is in court for this falls term at SCOTUS........

In 2019 Letitia sued Palmetto State Armory and others for selling 80% receivers...... Palmetto will not even sell a 100% to a NYS address, since then.
I also understand that GB no longer allows 80% blanks to be listed, or sellers just quit listing them.

HOW DO SHE KNOWS DAT STUFFS?

Paid monitors who monitor certain parts............like the QRTriggers..............dey knows dat stuffs
You life is an open book.............only cash sales FtF are not unless you sell to an undercover officer.
