But what I have a difficult time believing is that hamas was inside Israeli territory for SEVEN HOURS to wreak havoc. A country as small as Israel, with its history simply should have been responding to the invasion within an hour. To leave citizens at the mercy of those monsters for 7 hours is beyond belief.

The Israeli settlements near Gaza were politically fashioned by liberals to be a sacrificial buffer, dependent on outside police and military response with no means of self protection or deterrence. The culpable will never accept accountability for that stupidity.
A contributing cause to the October catastrophy, was 1) the IDF and Israeli Intelligence being duped / tactically outsmarted by Iran / proxies into believing the intelligence chatter involved a Hezbollah threat on the Lebanon border which they reinforced with assets otherwise at the border with Gaza and 2) a cocky over-confidence with the hard barriers, technology, and a complacency towards the less potent Hamas force in Gaza. They screwed up and will never admit they contributed to the impact of the October attacks.

- they were in part duped on the threat source and over-confident about defenses and readiness
