Karmelo Anthony Trial Protests Erupt Outside Texas Courthouse, Supporters Chant ‘Self-Defense is Not a Crime’

Supporters of accused murderer Karmelo Anthony have gathered outside a Texas courthouse to demonstrate in support of the black teenager during the opening day of his trial in the 2025 killing of a white high school football player named Austin Metcalf.

Video taken of the protests shows supporters chanting that “self-defense is not a crime,” which is the principal defense being pushed by 19-year-old Karmelo Anthony’s legal team.
In April of last year, Anthony allegedly argued with fellow student and football player Austin Metcalf at the high school in Frisco, Texas, and suddenly pulled a large knife out of his gym bag and stabbed the unarmed Metcalf in the chest, killing him.
Anthony’s legal team is throwing the race card and saying that the three black jurors they chose were struck down by the prosecution for racial reasons. But prosecutors said they struck the three potential black jurors because all three were schoolteachers and the case concerned a school and its policies. The judge agreed with the prosecution’s argument and empaneled the all-white jury over the protests of defense lawyers.

Jury Selection Completed in Karmelo Anthony Trial for Murder – Opening Statements Tomorrow

Karmelo Anthony, who is black, was arrested in 2025 after he stabbed and killed Austin Metcalf, who is white, at a track meet at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas. Karmelo has been charged with first-degree murder: the unlawful killing of another, with malice aforethought and specific intent.

The killing is not being disputed by the defense, there were dozens of witnesses to the murder. However, the defense is claiming ‘stand your ground’ and ‘self-defense’ as justification for the killing. The defense is also promoting a motive of racism for everything surrounding the event between Metcalf and Anthony and throughout the pre-trial motions and public positioning.

Race has become the focal point of the issue because the defense is promoting race as the cause. Interestingly, last week Jack Cashill noted the Karmelo Anthony trial was likely to become the summer 2026 racial motivation for the midterms -similar to George Floyd- assuming Karmelo is found guilty. {See Cashill Prediction Here}
Karmelo is transparently guilty and Cashill rightly notes there is a long history of Communists and Marxists using the transparently guilty as martyrs for their racism narratives. The Austin Metcalf murder and Karmelo Anthony trial is perfect fuel for the “Black Lives Matter” remnants to reassemble.
Defense attorneys late in the day accused prosecutors of striking three Black jurors — the only three Black candidates left in the jury pool — without proper cause. Prosecutors are required to provide a “race neutral” reason for striking the jurors, and they said it was because all three were educators. District Judge John Roach Jr. sided with prosecutors. {citation}
Within current society, black criminal behavior, accountable prosecutions and justice for the black criminal conduct have become part of a very lucrative black grievance industry. Race hustling lawyers no longer hide their motives and intentions; they are now quite open about it and dare anyone to challenge them as they weaponize a shield of racism.

Karmelo Anthony May Be Just the Midterm Martyr the Left Is Looking For

One “conspiracy theory” traced to the Right is that the Floyd riots of 2020 were orchestrated to enhance Democratic chances in November. In her much discussed 2021 article in Time, insider Molly Ball confirmed that the conspiracy was no mere theory. The organizers who led what she called “the racial-justice uprising” hoped to “harness its momentum for the election.” Rioting, Ball all but boasted, was the leverage leftists used to keep the business interests in line.
“The summer uprising,” Ball wrote, “had shown that people power could have a massive impact.” Harnessing the numerical strength of passive young whites and the active menace of young blacks and their Antifa allies, protest organizers brought America to its knees, in many places, literally. High on their success, “activists,” claimed Ball, “began preparing to reprise the demonstrations if Trump tried to steal the election.” In leftists circle, “steal” was a synonym for “win.”
