Question for Sig gurus !
Tomorrow I’m picking up a P320 x carry spectre and need to know specifically what I need to mount a rmr on it .
According to Sig a trijicon rmr will mount directly to the slide without adapter plate ? I of course will use a sealing plate. I guess my biggest question is what screws will I need ? Sig sells a sealing plate and screw set specifically for a rmr , but unfortunately they are out of stock . They fail to mention the screw size . Will the screws that come with the rmr work ?
I have a rmr on a custom slide for my G19 and with the slide came screws that the slide company said to use vs the screws from trijicon.
I appreciate any help as this will be my first p320 .thanks!

The screws it comes with should be more than enough. That "gasket" is super thin. I looks like you would have maybe 1 less thread that screws into the holes. If it were me, I would actually use this.

Reason being, precut gaskets never work as well as a custom made gasket. This is why many car manufacturers use gasket maker from the factory.

Won't be able to get it mounted and tested for a week or two, as the 365XL it's going on is my daily carry and I need 24+ hours for the Loctite to cure, and of course to get it zeroed at the range.

I'll take plenty of comparison pics with my current 507k-Gr x2.

Opted for the "Multiple Reticle System" version as I've been experimenting with the Circle+Dot combo, though it is a little cramped on such a small window. Man these things are getting expensive, part of the draw of Holosun for years for less expensive but just as good; at $400+ you're getting close to Trijicon RMR territory, except for the whole enclosed sight thing...

I've heard similar - my only experience with them is a plate for my M&P 2.0 Compact. No issues with the plate itself, however their directions indicated (IIRC) 10 in-lbs, and after a range trip the optic (Holosun 509t) was working loose. After some research, I found the proper amount is 15 in-lbs. Didn't have any issues after that, and it also went through a class with Ben @ Onsight.

10 in-lbs is pretty light. I get following there directions but yeah that seems off to me.

Same here. I contacted them to see if they would consider making a plate for my P10 someday and the answer was they are only making plates for "duty" weapons. Kind of turned me off to them.

Yeah, that’s why I mentioned only if they make the plate for your specific make and model optic and pistol. Their reply doesn’t turn me off to them because the products they do make are high quality. Just because he doesn’t make a specific plate for a certain setup wouldn’t stop me from purchasing a very well made product for a different setup that they do make. All it does is leave a hole in the market for eventually someone else to pick up.

I agree. It’s hard to ask a guy to set up a machine to make a plate he’s not going to make many of. Custom work comes with a high price tag.

I know a machinist that would likely make you a plate if you could get him all the specs you need. He’s not a gunsmith but I don’t think making a plate is illegal or requires a smithing license.

Yeah, I literally will never use any CHPWS product at all. I’ve seen enough issues from their plates and even their milling work. I wish I could find all the old pictures and video of the problems they keep having. Metallurgy, poor hardware, anodizing, plates out of spec, milling F’d up…it’s not worth it using them if it’s avoidable.

This is why plates suck and direct mount is best. I wish all these half ass plate mounts would fucking go away, or at least for manufacturers to offer non-cut slides so the customer has the option to have it custom milled. I fucking hate it when the youtube idiots bitch about non "Optics ready" guns. Fuck off with that jury rigged bullshit already.

I guess at this point I’m annoyed. I have a p320 slide that according to Sig it’s ddp and rmr compatible , but after researching I still need a filler plate to fill the space between the optic and the milled edge . So it’s not really an adapter plate , not sure why sig wouldn’t offer this filler plate .
Some say just mount it and the screws will hold , I don’t trust that . Some say just go with a Romeo, I don’t want a Romeo . For the price of a Romeo pro I can get a rmr which in my opinion is far superior .
At this point I may sell my slide and order a custom slide specifically for a rmr !

Did a quick dry fit tonight. The CH plate seems to do what it’s supposed to . Unfortunately the screws that came with the rmr were too long so I’m using the screws that came with the filler plate .
This will be in my carry rotation and I’ll will do a fair amount of testing before hand. The gun itself has had 300 flawless rds of various ammo including my carry ammo of choice. I’ll run another 4-500 rds once the rmr is properly mounted before I bet my life on it .
So far Gunnar has given his approval !

This morning I ran an additional 400 rds through my p320 punching fist size groups with ease . I must say I’m in love and I’m 100 % confident she won’t break my heart .
Saturday I mounted the rmr applied thread locker , torqued to spec and let it cure .
The dot held zero and didn’t fly off ! The filler plate and fasteners did as intended. I burned through various ammo once again no issues whatsoever. Shot up some carry ammo that I’ve been carrying for a while , which the sig fired perfectly. The +p ammo seems much softer in this pistol than my G19 .
I received an ANR design AIWB holster which I’ve been carrying with all weekend around the house and I must say it’s extremely comfortable and the retention on the light is perfect.
I’ve decided not to use suppressor height sights . I prefer the unobstructed view through the rmr . I know I know what about back ups cause the stock sights are useless . They’re actually not I can tip the barrel up slightly and pick up enough of the front sight to line up with the rear . I tested today this method of aim and I shoot 4 inches high at 25 feet . If rmr goes down which is very unlikely I’ll adjust my hold and I can still go to work .
I’m confident in the setup and will be carrying this pistol everyday .

I did have one issue - the screws that both came with the optic (and new ones I had ordered from McMaster-Carr) were shorter than the ones I used on the 507k. Apparently SIG changed the screw length with a revision, I have an earlier model where the rear sight comes off with the plate. Newer models leave the rear sight on?

I didn't want to re-use the previous screws but also didn't want to have to reorder and wait a week+, so I just cleaned the hell out of the screws and hoped for the best.

When I upgrade in another year I'll worry about it then...

You know you can clean the lense of a red dot without damaging it. Just saying...

So done for now. Went with the 507C. Picking up the red dot took less than a minute. If you have experience with one on a rifle it should be easy get with a hangun as well.

Shooting with a dot on a handgun does have a learning curve . The dot will expose any flaws in your technique. Back on target in a string of fire takes a bit more skill with a handgun over a rifle . When that dot is bouncing out of the window on recoil the key is to improve your technique to the point where the dot bounces straight up and back down on target as opposed to the dot bouncing all over the place .
