How many executive orders has Cuomo signed? It’s because the states will have to pay for a portion of it.
They actually don't. They can just count the $100 they would have to chip in against what they already pay out. The person would just get $300 extra instead of $400. It would cost the state nothing additional if they opted for that version of the program.

Let me get this straight. The past couple of October's we received some form of ’refund' from the state to the tune of about $300 that had nothing to do with political reasons. Gotcha.....

Cuomo thinks the federal government should bail out the states instead. If he took all of that money, that would be roughly 15% of 19.45MM people at $300/month, or @$875MM/month just to NY.GOV. Or almost 1.2 billion/month if they kicked in the entire $400. When a politician talks, follow the money. You can buy a lot of votes with that much money.
NY already got $64 BILLION in federal corona money... and probably more than that.
So the KING of the Executive Order changed over 250 State Laws with 33 Executive Orders between March 1st and July 1st, but when Trump issues one he states "I don’t believe the whole executive order mechanism is legal." WTF? Emperor Cuomo strikes again...

I am seeing some of my own friends and family suffering through no fault of their own over this virus.
These politicians make the rules, whichbare arbitrary and unproven at best.....masks, distancing, grocery stores but not restaurants, grocery stores but not voting.....etc
People who were doing fine now have zero income but the bills do not stop comming.
People and the economy are suffering because American politicians are trying to one up each other for votes.
If this wasnt an election year, this virus would not be a thing.

Unless a large enough percentage of the people all say fuck it, and are willing to deal with the aftermath of not paying, what other option is there?
Vote differently next time. I hope it goes up enough that people are finally forced to make a really hard decision. Maybe if school taxes all of a sudden became 50% or 75% of our property value. Let's see what happens the first year people are told to come up with that kind of money. It would effect a change rather quickly.
