This could indicate that NYSLRS will be raising their COLA. A double raise I like it.

[Jmac00]

[GOPerfect]

I saw that VA payouts and Military retirement is up 7.2%. No complaints from me on that

[redtail]

Paywall.

[Deplorable Me]

If you've earned it and paid into the system God bless ya, it was earned.

[Robin]

It's always that way with .GOV - trying to get you to smile while they butt-fuck you with sand in the vaseline.

The more I've seen of .GOV overreach and lies, at all levels, during the COVID scamdemic, anarchy is looking pretty good.

Just a bunch of BS...

Articles I've seen make it sound like they're doing something good, like giving a BIG increase to help people out. What a crock of shit!

The increase isn't going to keep Pace with inflation, not even close!

And they're still selling that bullshit about insolvency by 33'...

You think they'd throw in a half Trillion of those free dollars to jack the shit up? No...

Maybe only the disadvantaged and those who've suffered from systemic racism will be qualified for the increases especially for those on SS WITH a Pension to boot... Because you know, privileged!!!

And oh, they're paying for it by increasing the amount of money workers will pay! Hahahaha, amazing!

And every single one of these Liberal Leftist who were around when Reagan was POTUS had twisted Exorcist heads... This guy is making him look like an amateur!!!

[TEOTWAWKI inc.]

I'm surprised they aren't talking about means testing for SS benefits.

[masterswimmer]

Inflation is up about 20% and they're giving a COLA raise of 5.9%. Yup, seems about right. Why didn't they just give the 20%? I mean all they do is keep printing money anyway. Tell you what, get prices back to prescamdemic levels and keep your god damn COLA adjustment. I know I'd be MUCH better off.

[Blimey]

The official inflation rate, which motivates their raise, is still sub 6%.

Current U.S. Inflation Rates: 2000-2026

The annual inflation rate in the United States was 3.7% for the 12 months ending September, up from 3.4% in August, according to U.S. Labor Department data released October 14, 2026. The next update is scheduled for November 10 at 8:30 a.m. ET and will cover the 12 months ending October. Below...

Why The Fed Is Wrong About The Coming Inflation

The people at the Federal Reserve are smart, conscientious and well-intentioned. But in 2021, they are wrong about inflation.

Wonderful let's just all live off the fucking government. What ever happened to making people work and not just handing them money? What about the Civilian Conservation Corps?

Why even bother paying into this shit. I'm never going to see it in my lifetime because they'll bankrupt it.

What are people going to say? "Oh well, I guess the government stole our money!" and shrug it off? I know I'm not.

Thats what we all said when we were 18 yrs old.We were wrong then and now I'm getting my share.Hopefully it will hold on til you get here.

If they bankrupt it, I want to see people tried in court. They have a responsibility to the people. It would be a miscarriage of justice to let them destroy retirements of people and then just walk away without putting them on trial (and preferably given the gallows as the penalty if convicted.)

[GOPerfect]

In regards to this increase...

I have spent the better part of the last 25 years saving, stocking away and preparing for the future.

I will get a couple of retirement checks when I stop working. I will receive SS as well. I am counting on all three of those income to be there in full force upon my retirement.

I am not going to be dependant upon those.

[TEOTWAWKI inc.]

If they gave the option to stop paying into SS now, but forfeit everything I have already contributed, and any future benefits, I would sign up for that deal yesterday.

I want few things more than getting the government completely out of my life.

The seniors leaving by vaccination, no vaccination, covid or no covid, this all helps maintain the solvency. Obama's obamacare dude is still around and he thinks, turn off everyone at 75.

Nah.

These people voted for politicians that promised them X but only properly budgeted to pay out Y in benefits. I say Fuck em'. You didn't demand fiscal responsibility from your representatives so it's too darn bad for you. What you reap is what you sow.

The problem is that a 7% raise in a world where everything costs 10% more is actually a 3% pay cut.

The only good thing is that the people getting fucked the hardest by this will be all the banks that gave out low interest loans.

Oh, and I stand corrected...

We are getting the same increase as SS.

What I thought we were getting was only a projection.

I didn't vote for them. I've also been very vocal about forcing fiduciary responsibility on politicians.
