The ultimate bullshit! Those who were cognizant of the law and violated it for personal gain, that were caught, charged, and tried by a jury...

These people were somehow wronged by the system! And now they're being chosen to be rewarded by preferential treatment because they're from an established "CLASS" being tagged and recognized as "underprivileged"... They will not only be given opportunity UNAVAILABLE to all others, but they will be given financial assistance as well to establish the business. I'm sure, also that banking issues will evaporate for them as well!

I'm sure they'll know how to keep records and reporting as required by dispensaries, and how to manage business finances as well. Or will they be given accountants too? Heck, why don't they just make some privileged white folks who've never had a law enforcement encounter handle and run the business for them and turn over all profits weekly to the State's pick (former felon) for each dispensary!

That was the "catch-22" You had to have a Marijuana Licenses to Grow/Posses it, but to get the Licenses to legally do so you had to appear with the plant which was illegal and illegally possessed because it was unlicensed.
Some, maybe all Counties in NY demanded you have a Handgun listed on your Pistol Permit Application, but you couldn't have a Handgun unless you had a Licenses.
Just remember, the fucktards that write these Laws aren't "special People" or more skilled, intelligent, or insightful.....The Laws are written by staffers, Para-Legals, and underachieving Lawyers , to reflect the Legislators wishes or maybe not.
