California Shouldn’t Secede from the U.S.

Liberals used to hate secession, the notion that states could leave the Union as they did before the Civil War because they didn’t agree with the policies of the federal government. But with Donald Trump’s election
Just insert NY for California.

NOTE! The liberal media says most Californians are in favor of secession. Actually that pole was splitting in two or more states. Allowing the City States of Los Angeles and San Francisco. They have the same problem we have in NY with NY City.

No. We should vote on a 28th Amendment that simply states: "The state of California, composed of environs within borders at the time of the ratification of this amendment, shall no longer be part of the union of the United States of America."

Done!

In the long run, that'll save us a ton of money when California goes officially bankrupt. And, it'll shift the electoral college rightward.

It is a perfect time to split NY up for many reasons.

1. Upstate NY has a different culture than NYC / downstate.
2. Nearly all if not all of our laws have a downstate bias to them.
3. States rights come to play as well, especially in regards to Sanctuary Cities. Upstate, now called the state of Adirondack can have a policy of no sanctuary cities.
4. The state of Adirondack would have a constitutional carry amendment in it's own state constitution.

The only thing it needs is a big push to become reality. It can become reality, especially if it is explained to everyone that they, not downstate will have control of decisions that impact them. Virginia used to be one state, until the western part wanted to separate due to different cultures. We now have West Virginia. BTW 1984 is an instructional manual for both parties. The left and right are the same, just as the left and right twix are.

Sadly, the same cannot be said for Massachusetts.

There are conservative regions, but removing Boston and the cesspool surrounding it solves little.

Lawrence up North, Worcester in the Middle, Springfield out West, and the Berkshires ?

If NYC is not part of the new state, Albany will be cleaned up of all the downstaters who are just there because it is the Capital of the state. Keep ALbany the Capital of the new state, the buildings are already there. Manhattan could be the new Capital of New Amsterdam or whatever the other state will be called.
I floated around the idea that the counties close to Vermont, join Vermont. It's funny that I shoot twenty minutes from a free state.

I would absolutely give zero fucks if NYC / the 5 boroughs became their own state. Let the idiots down there run it into the ground for all I care; when they do, they won't be able to keep taking from the upstate wallet when money runs out, since we'll be on our own.

#2 Allocate Electoral College Votes by Congressional District.

These two reforms, which some states already have, would change the landscape forever.

1) No, California should not secede. If those idiots don't like it, THEY can move out, but the territory belongs to the U.S. and will not be given up. (Isn't that what they told us gun owners?)

2) Albany should NOT be the Capitol of the new State. It is far too filled with sludge left over from the City.
ALBION should be the new Capitol. After all, it's in the only County for which every township voted against the Tyrant's wet dream (ie: SAFE Act)

You know that NYS used to be much bigger in the eary years of the USA and included Vermont. It was that rat Ethan Allen who lead the break-away commonwealth of vermont. (He was a rat because while Americans were dying on the battlefield and in British terrorist imperialist prison ships he had secret negotiations to become a part of Canuckistan. Look it up.) That land alone would ship power to the north of the state.

The economics don't work. If New York State broke up, and NYC/Nassau/Westchester/Suffolk were split off, the rest of the state would be poor enough to resemble distressed Appalachia. As much as we resent the political influence of those areas they provide the huge sums of money that are transferred from downstate to upstate through Albany. Add on top of this that the state's debt and pension obligations would need to be allocated between upstate and downstate in a split up and it would be crippling.

the economics don't make sense because the numbers are skewed. For example: the GDP for "downstate" is $875 BILLION and Upstate is $368 billion. But that GDP includes wall street profits. Remove those and the number even out.

I have no issue with NYshitty becoming a district. Upstate will survive just fine
