NYS Ammo background checks - going any better??

[2WheelGnnr]

I know I may not get a lot of feedback and I agree...the consesus is to go to PA...but I may not get that way before hunting Season and I may need so "stuff" by then.......so....I heard in the beginning state was taking long and many came back denied and alot of waiting and errors...has this gotten any better..as much as I dont want to go through all that...I may need to in order to be ready for the season...just wondering how people were finding the matter to be these days? any of the system get straightened out or anything since it was started/new............

I Have to look at my stock pile and see what I have and or could substitute for anything.........

I'm curious as well...I've had 4473's done and they do seem to go faster for me, but I've yet to have one done for ammo or black powder guns...
at its inception, there were multiple denials for people whom shouldn't have be, especially those with Badges.

So I did it once just so I wouldn't be talking out my ass when it came to commenting on the matter. The systems sucks. It took hours to get a response for my purchase. You can get pulled over and cleared by a LEO in less time. Given today's networking technology, IMHO, the system has been designed to perform exactly as it does.

Reading up I didnt realize NY drop federal NICS for Guns too...I thought ny system was for ammo only....Im so stupid I shoulda Known..........why NY always think they can do something better.....then again they just wanted to collect all the info.

they didn't drop the NICS
The Mechanism: The New York State Police act as the intermediary. They receive the transfer application, query federal NICS databases on the backend, check state-level databases, and return a "Proceed," "Pending," or "Denied" decision to the dealer

But the NICS System is NOT used for Ammunition and Muzzleloaders (Federally forbidden) instead it pulls from NYSP via Tyler Technologies in Texas. There are two systems in use by NY which is why guns go through one at $9.00 and ammunition through the other at $2.50 (cost) each.

That's correct. What I was getting at for all other guns they did not drop it

Black powder muzzleloaders is my main interest in guns. I can no longer trade freely, I refuse to go to an FFL for this nonsense, so I guess I'm done.
Hate is a terrible thing to carry in ones heart, but they have succeeded in igniting those damnable coals, I hate this fucking shit hole state.

Total disarmament is the CCP/Hochul/Democrats goal................you cannot have a CCP takeover, if the people can resist in ways, that put CCP Occupation troops at risk, and eliminate their dreams of retuning home with loot and booty, to their household.

It is as simply as that.

I have, reluctantly, utilized the NYS ammo background check as I sorely needed ammo for competition and didn't have time to drive 3 hours for the alternative.

1st time, while buying a new gun, ammo check went right through instantly.
2nd time, just buying ammo, resulted in a 20 minute delay.

While I love New York State for the scenery and most of the people I meet, I would not be upset to find out Albany was crushed under a meteor and NYC sadly drifted off and sank in the Atlantic.

I’ve Never used the ammo back round check and Never intend to .
I roll All of my own pistol calibers with a good friend of mine so there’s that. I don’t reload any rifle calibers at the moment or shotgun but if I’m in need I’ll Make the time to drive out of state no matter what. Fuck this state. I also keep a running list of calibers that I’m getting low on and pick them up when I visit my daughter and granddaughter in NC.
