If we had a real global independent media the obvious question to these nations criticizing U.S. trade and domestic policy is why not sanction the U.S. Just like they do with every other country that doesn't bend the knee to the West hegemony. Freeze Trumps accounts, Elons, and any others involved in the administration. Freeze U.S. banks around the world and their patrons. Lock them out of their accounts.

Chernobyl was a graphite cooled reactor and was running with a positive reactivity coefficient (when power goes up, the temperature goes up which raises power, etc. When Temperatures go too high, not only does power keep going up in a thermal carryaway type event the graphite coolant essentially is consumed). I was friends with some contractors (now US citizens) who were operators at Chernobyl and survived what should have been LD-100 lethal radiation exposure. They confirmed the unit was ordered to perform risky poorly controlled / poorly managed / poorly planned experiments on the operating reactor at the time of the accident. (FAFO)
In the US commercial core designs for power ops have a negative reactivity coefficient (higher Temps reduce power necessitating control rods to be withdrawn and for a water soluble boron concentration to be reduced in the coolant to keep the reactor from shutting itself down) and use water as a coolant. No more of their scumbag citizens coming here and buying tons of clothes and leaving their trash all over. I live close the border and I remember a while back the Canadians were coming over in their crappy clothes and buy new here. So to avoid the tariffs when they cross back over they would dump all their old clothes in the parking lot and wear their new clothes back home in layers. First they tried donations bins and the lazy trash didn’t use them, next they tried dumpsters and it’s improved but not great. Yes they help the local economy but I can’t stand them. They also buy a lot of property in and around Ellicottville and have made it so expensive to go there it’s not worth it. Again this is good for us but it is worth it, maybe I don’t know. Im sure Hochul will tell me it’s worth it.

While some Americans will travel outside the US for cheaper medical care (such as going to Mexico for elective dental care, or even to South America for cosmetic surgery), I am reminded that Canada, - for all they talk about their vaunted socialized medical care system, that the wait times for needed surgeries (NOT elective) is so long (I hear times of 1 year or longer), that Canadians will often come across the border into the US and pay for those needed surgeries out of pocket. It's either that, - or die waiting for some needed surgery in Canada.
I saw that when I lived in Buffalo through the years. The American doctors don't care as they are getting paid in full instead of what our insurance pays them. They are only too happy to do that!

I dislike Canada and most Canadians. Their country is expensive, elitist, and beautiful. I go to Canada for two things and not often. I go to the aquarium up there and go to the butterfly conservatory. Every 5-6 years I go to a museum in Toronto. I get treated like a first class criminal when I go because I have a pistol permit. Last time I went the middle eastern CBP agents at the border tried to talk me into me having my pistol on me and that they would store it for me until I got back. I kept saying they are at home in my safe and I don’t carry them with me. He kept saying well some times people forget and that’s ok do you have one in your car or on you. No, no I don’t. Honestly pissed me off. I told him I don’t even bring a pocket knife with me and I feel naked with out a gun or a knife and he finally let me leave.

But I'm seeing more and more farm fields being covered with solar panels here in WNY, which gets the least amount of sunshine for at least 6 months of the year. And the other 5-6 months of the year isn't all that great when it comes to sunshine either.
My electric bill has already become atrocious compared to what it was some years ago with similar usage. Now it's going to get even worse.

A quick check confirmed Ontario was already bilking NY customers more than 300 percent more than power charges from the Indian Point they shut down .
Since electric bills in NY are so heavily laden with transmission, wheeling, distribution, taxes, and surcharges that have nothing to do with the price of the electricity used, some may not notice that the replacement power jumped from 300% to 325% unless someone brought it to their attention.
Might be cheaper to just run on my generator.

It's funny, I got a 275 gallon diesel tank, because 95% of what I use at my house is diesel, including my generator. So I buy in bulk. Saves a little bit, but it's more for SHTF/convenience purposes. It's nice pulling my truck up to my pump, filling it up and pulling it into the garage. No dealing with fuel stations and jerry cans. I keep dawdling the idea of throwing a 60 gallon Transfer Flow aux tank in my bed with a fill controller, and then I'll have 110 gallons of diesel on board.
Biggest decision I made was going to diesel for a lot of things, only because the fuel is much safer to store in large quantities.

I just bought a car and they sent a survey to use after we purchased. One of the questions on the survey was did we consider an EV. Answer was no, told the salesmen not even to try to sell me an EV and I’d be the last on earth to own one. After that the survey asked why we didn’t. I told them cost, range, not good tech.
